How a Car.gr Extraction Project Runs

We start from your target: which sections, which filters, which fields. Then we build a scraper that walks the search results, opens every listing and parses the full specification block, keeping the Greek source values mapped to clean, consistent columns in your output. Delivery is CSV, Excel or JSON, in whatever structure your systems expect. The run can be one-off or scheduled: daily, weekly or monthly. Monitoring, rerun of failed pages and format stability are our side of the deal, not yours.

What Our Car.gr Scraper Collects

We take the full card, not a summary of it: listing ID and URL, title, asking price and any previous price shown, condition, make, model and version, registration year and month, mileage, fuel type, gearbox, engine displacement, horsepower, drivetrain, body type, doors and seats, color, emissions and consumption figures, equipment and safety options, region and city, photo set, description text, publication date, seller name and type, and the contact and purchase options attached to the listing.

Past the Spec Block - Sellers, Regions and Price Movement on Car.gr

A single listing is only the starting point. Because Car.gr separates private sellers from professional accounts and keeps a dealer and business directory alongside the classifieds, we can attach seller identity to each vehicle and rebuild a dealer's entire visible inventory, its regional footprint and the mix of brands and price bands it carries. Repeat runs add the dimension a single snapshot cannot give you: how long a car stays online, when the asking price is cut and by how much, which listings are relisted, and how supply shifts between Attica, Thessaloniki, Crete and the islands. Purchase and financing options offered on the card can be captured the same way.

What Car.gr Is and Who Sells There

Car.gr is the reference marketplace for vehicles in Greece. The company has been running the site since 2002 and is based in Pylaia, on the edge of Thessaloniki. It describes itself as the largest classifieds platform in the country, and traffic rankings consistently place it first among Greek automotive websites, with the overwhelming majority of visits coming from inside Greece itself.

The vehicle side is split into separate sections with their own URL branches: passenger cars, bikes and scooters, vans and trucks, commercial vehicles, campers, boats, agricultural machinery, plus a large parts and accessories catalog. Around the vehicle core the platform also hosts non-automotive classifieds, from electronics and home equipment to jobs and real estate.

Supply comes from private owners and from the trade side alike. A separate dealer and business directory covers thousands of car dealers, commercial vehicle traders, official dealerships and rental companies, and professional accounts can push their stock in bulk instead of posting listings one by one.

Search is unusually filter-heavy: condition, make and model, price, registration year, mileage, fuel, gearbox, engine displacement, horsepower, color, emissions and Greek region, with sorting by listing age, price, popularity, kilometers or power. The interface can be switched to English, while listing text itself is mostly Greek.

Who Needs Car.gr Data and Why

If you sell, buy or finance vehicles in Greece, Car.gr is where the market prices itself. Dealers use the data to see what comparable stock is asking, how long it sits and which trims move. Importers and exporters compare Greek price levels against Germany, Italy or Romania before moving cars across borders. Leasing companies, insurers and remarketing teams need residual values that reflect live asking prices rather than a book table. Marketplaces and analytics vendors use it to benchmark their own inventory. Doing this by hand across the whole listing base is not realistic, and one manual sample goes stale within days.

How Artificial Intelligence Is Used In Web Scraping

Leveraging advances in technology, the AI-powered web scraper has skyrocketed in demand and is helping to expand capabilities by automating tedious daily tasks and speeding up data collection from thousands of websites several times over.

What is Web Scraping and What is it Used For?

Web scraping is a method of obtaining web data by extracting it from pages of web resources with the help of a program, that is, in automatic mode. It is used to syntactically convert web pages into more usable forms.

About ScrapeIt

We build custom scrapers to order, and Car.gr is a site we have already worked in production. For a European car dealer we set up daily monitoring of two portals, Car.gr for the Greek market and AutoScout24 for Italy, pulling every available technical parameter from each vehicle page along with seller information and purchase options. The pipeline was live in nine working days. It remains one of our most detailed datasets, simply because a car carries so many parameters.

FAQ

Which Car.gr sections can you scrape?

Any of them. Passenger cars are the usual target, but the same approach covers bikes, vans and trucks, commercial vehicles, campers, boats, agricultural machinery and the parts catalog, as well as the dealer directory.

Can you filter instead of taking the whole site?

Yes, and it is usually the better plan. We can follow any filter combination the site supports: make and model, price band, year, mileage, fuel, gearbox, region, or new versus used stock only.

How often can the data be refreshed?

A collection can be one-off or scheduled daily, weekly or monthly. Our Car.gr project for a European dealer ran on a daily cycle, which is the usual choice when you track price changes.

What format do we get the files in?

CSV, Excel or JSON, structured to fit your database or pricing tool. Greek field values are mapped to consistent columns, so you do not have to normalize them on your side.

Does Car.gr block automated collection?

Like most marketplaces it has protective measures in place. On our production Car.gr project collection ran steadily, and keeping access stable is part of the service rather than something you manage.

How does it Work?

Step 1 - Make a Request

You share your needs, expectations, and desired timeframe. We’ll suggest the best solution based on your request and budget.

Step 2 - Configuring Custom Web Crawlers

Our specialists configure the crawlers and extract a sample dataset for your review before proceeding with the full-scale extraction.

Step 3 - Collect and Deliver

Once you approve the sample, we launch the project and start full data collection. We gather, filter, and structure the data for easy use, delivering it on time in your preferred format.

Step 4 - Maintain and Support

Our team manages ongoing processes, monitors website changes, and supports all data extraction cycles. We can also help integrate data into your systems or create dashboards to simplify analysis.
