Ralph Lauren Monitoring on Amazon, 8 Markets Scanned Into One Clean Dataset

Ralph Lauren Monitoring on Amazon, 8 Markets Scanned Into One Clean Dataset

The customer needed regular monitoring of Ralph Lauren clothing, footwear, and accessories as they are sold on Amazon in eight national markets. The request was not a one-time catalog snapshot. It was a recurring picture of what is listed, where it sits in search results, whether it is available, and who is selling it - collected the same way on every storefront so the markets can be read side by side.

Sources: amazon.ae, amazon.de, amazon.es, amazon.fr, amazon.it, amazon.nl, amazon.co.uk, amazon.pl; over time also Cdiscount, Otto, Skroutz, Farfetch, and a one-off run on amazon.com
Coverage: Clothing, footwear, and accessories under the Ralph Lauren brand, with the sellers behind every listing
Frequency: Monthly since 2022
Volume: Around 16,000 Amazon listings in a typical month; 100,000 rows from Skroutz in March 2025; 50,000 from Farfetch Hong Kong in August 2026
Delivery: CSV files on our SFTP server, one folder per marketplace and run date
Setup and launch: 4 days to build and test the scraper, 1 day for the crawl

Page number and slot number, not an abstract rank

One of the required fields was the position of each product in Amazon search results, recorded as the listing page number and the slot number on that page. A description, an image, or a rating describes the item and stays the same regardless of who looks at it. A position describes the result page: it exists only as observed output on one storefront at one moment.

That is why placement has to be observed on the storefront itself. Storing it as page plus slot, rather than one number, keeps the raw observation intact for whatever the customer measures later.

Variant-level ASIN coverage across eight storefronts

The second requirement was the full list of ASINs by color and size for all products. In this category one product is many identifiers: a garment offered in several colors and sizes generates a grid of ASINs, and the customer asked for that grid in full, along with descriptions, images, ratings, availability, and inventory information. Whether an item is buyable in one market only has a reliable answer if the variant grid for that market is complete.

Ralph Lauren sellers, registration data, and keeping other brands out

Alongside the catalog, the customer asked for the full list of sellers for each ASIN with their registration data: VAT ID, company details, and storefront link. When the customer finds an infringing listing, it captures the page with the seller details visible, because that capture may become evidence if legal proceedings against the seller follow. A seller value that cannot be traced back to the page is of little use there.

The specification also included filtering out third-party brands that surface in search results. If those rows stay in the table, every figure built on top of it moves - counts by market, availability shares, seller totals. The check does not rely on the title alone: we look for the brand in the title, specification, and description, because items such as socks often leave it out of the title.

Four years of Ralph Lauren monitoring on five marketplaces

The first datasets went out in 2022, and the run has been repeated every month since. Each month the customer picks the marketplaces for the next run. The eight Amazon storefronts stayed the core. Cdiscount has been in the run since 2022. Otto was added at the end of 2024 and swapped for Skroutz in early 2025, a one-off amazon.com run of more than 18,000 rows followed in April 2025, and Farfetch joined in 2026 with its Hong Kong and Korea storefronts.

Each source has its own seller layout. Skroutz storefronts show a registration number, a phone, and orders per week, and whether a listing checks out on the marketplace or sends the buyer to the shop became a field of its own. On Farfetch the seller can change with the item size, so seller details are read for every size. On Amazon, each storefront is collected from its own country, so results match what local shoppers see.

What the customer receives

Every month the customer receives the Amazon set plus the marketplaces in that month's rotation, all restricted to Ralph Lauren products. Each row carries the search position by page and slot, the ASIN by color and size, the description, images, rating, availability and inventory information, and the seller with registration data.
