Buying data raises questions before it raises invoices. This page sets out how we work, so your legal and procurement teams can check us against their own rules.
What we collect
We collect data that is publicly available on the target source: information any visitor can see without special access rights. We do not buy, resell or exchange data obtained from third parties.
When a project needs a source that requires registration to view, that is agreed explicitly at the scoping stage together with the client, and it is handled inside our collection layer.
Personal data
Most of our projects are about products, listings, prices and availability, not about people. Where a source publishes contact details as part of a listing, for example an estate agent's phone number on a property page, we collect that field only when the client asks for it and states the purpose.
We do not build profiles of individuals and we do not enrich collected records with data from other sources.
GDPR and CCPA
For data about our own website visitors and clients we act as controller, and our practices are set out in the privacy policy. For data we collect on a client's instruction we act as processor: the client defines the purpose and the lawful basis, and we process only what the brief covers.
We can sign a data processing agreement on request.
Confidentiality
Project details, target lists and delivered datasets are treated as the client's confidential information. We can sign a non-disclosure agreement before scoping starts, and we do not name clients in public materials without their written permission. That is why our case studies describe the industry and the numbers rather than the company.
Trademarks and site names
Names of websites and companies on this site are used to identify the sources our services work with. Those names and trademarks belong to their respective owners. Using them here does not imply any affiliation with, endorsement by, or partnership with those owners.
What we will not do
- Collect data that is not publicly accessible without an explicit, documented agreement with the client about the source and the method.
- Deliver datasets built around identifying or tracking specific private individuals.
- Take on a project whose stated purpose is unlawful in the client's jurisdiction or ours.
