Scrape AUTODOC: How the Service Works

You choose the shops - autodoc.de, autodoc.co.uk, auto-doc.fr or any other country site - and the scope: categories, brands, vehicles, or a list of OE or article numbers to look up. We build the crawler, run it and fix it whenever AUTODOC changes its pages. The German shop, autodoc.de, holds unfamiliar traffic on a waiting page before the catalogue appears, which is why request pacing, rotating proxies, CAPTCHA handling and rendering come with the service.

Every row carries its shop, currency and collection time. You get field documentation and files in CSV, XLSX, JSON or JSONLines, or the rows through our API, a JSON feed, SFTP or Amazon S3 - once, or on a daily or weekly schedule.

AUTODOC Data: Product Card Fields

An AUTODOC product card is dense with identifiers and technical attributes, which is what makes it useful beyond the shop itself. Our AUTODOC scraper returns one row per product and shop:

  • Identity - brand, product name, article number, the numeric product id at the end of the address, the EAN, the product line and the trade numbers the maker uses for the same part.
  • Category - the breadcrumb (Parts catalogue, Brakes, Brake pads) and the category id carried in the listing address.
  • Specifications - the Parts Details block as printed: fitting position, dimensions, material, quantity unit such as Axle Set, wear warning contact, test mark, the WVA number on brake pads, and notes like "Replace in pairs only".
  • Price - the price with the shop's VAT line (incl. VAT, excl. delivery costs), the "compared to RRP" reference and the discount badge where the card shows them, price per item and per pair for parts sold in twos, and the price per litre for engine oil.
  • Stock and seller - In stock, with the "Item(s) left" counter when it appears, condition, and Sold by AUTODOC.
  • Cross-references - OE numbers with the carmaker group each belongs to, and the Alternatives block listing other brands' equivalent numbers, several with their own price.
  • Fitment - compatible makes, the models and engines a part was recently bought for, years of construction, power in hp and kW, and engine capacity.
  • Reviews - star rating, the number of customers who rated the item, review text and the verified purchase tag.

Reviewer names are personal data and stay out of the dataset by default; the rating, the count and the text are enough for product work.

AUTODOC Price Tracker for Every Country Shop

AUTODOC Price Tracker for Every Country Shop

AUTODOC is not one shop but a family of country shops with their own domains, languages and prices: autodoc.de, auto-doc.fr, autodoc.co.uk, auto-doc.it, autodoc.es, autodoc.nl, autodoc.pl, autodoc.se and more, plus English-language shops aimed at Germany, France, Italy and the Netherlands. The UK shop prices in GBP and the euro shops in euros, each with its own VAT line, so one article number becomes several price points and we keep them apart with a shop column.

Coverage reaches past the product card. Category listings can be cut by brand, since each brand has its own filtered address, and by maker, model and engine; brand pages gather a manufacturer's range; separate subdomains carry motorbike and truck parts. Each OE number also has a page of its own on the shop, listing the aftermarket articles AUTODOC marks as equivalent, with their brands and a price range, so a list of OE numbers opens the competing set for each original part.

The card only ever shows today's price, RRP reference, discount badge and stock counter, with no record of earlier figures. Repeated runs on the same article numbers are the reliable way to track AUTODOC price history per shop, with every change dated by the run that recorded it.

About AUTODOC and Its Country Shops

AUTODOC was founded in Berlin in 2008 and sells car parts and accessories online in 27 countries, each served by its own shop. The range covers car spare parts, including parts for hybrid and battery electric vehicles, tyres and wheels, engine oils and fluids, tools, accessories, and parts for trucks and motorbikes. Next to manufacturers such as Bosch, Brembo, ATE, Bilstein, febi bilstein and Valeo, it sells its own brands RIDEX and goCORE.

The catalogue is organised by category and subcategory - Brakes, then Brake pads, Brake discs, Brake caliper - and by vehicle. A visitor picks a maker, a model and an engine, or on the UK and French shops enters a registration number, and the listing narrows to parts that fit. Product cards are long: a block of technical attributes, the article number and EAN, OE references, buyer ratings, and an Alternatives block naming equivalent parts from other brands.

Around the shop sit the AUTODOC CLUB app for maintenance planning, a large library of repair guides and video tutorials, and a customer service team the company describes as vehicle mechatronics engineers. For data work the shop pages are what matters: prices, stock and ratings there are shown to every visitor.

Why Collect AUTODOC Prices and Part Data

AUTODOC publishes prices for a very wide slice of the European aftermarket, and it does so with identifiers that join cleanly to anyone else's catalogue.

  • Benchmarking by EAN and article number - retailers, distributors and marketplace sellers match their range to AUTODOC and see where they sit, shop by shop.
  • Cross-border price gaps - the same article priced on the German, French, Italian and UK shops shows how one retailer prices one part in each market, VAT included.
  • Brand competition per OE number - the Alternatives block shows which brands compete for each original part, and at what price.
  • Discount depth - the RRP reference and discount badge, logged over time, show how deep and how often discounts run in each category.
  • Demand and quality signals - rating counts, star ratings and the vehicles a part was recently bought for show which applications move.
  • Catalogue enrichment - fitment, specifications and OE cross-references fill gaps in your own product data.

How Artificial Intelligence Is Used In Web Scraping

How Artificial Intelligence Is Used In Web Scraping

Leveraging advances in technology, the AI-powered web scraper has skyrocketed in demand and is helping to expand capabilities by automating tedious daily tasks and speeding up data collection from thousands of websites several times over.

What is Web Scraping and What is it Used For?

What is Web Scraping and What is it Used For?

Web scraping is a method of obtaining web data by extracting it from pages of web resources with the help of a program, that is, in automatic mode. It is used to syntactically convert web pages into more usable forms.

About ScrapeIt

ScrapeIt is a data extraction company working as a managed service. We build and maintain the crawlers, take care of the anti-bot side and deliver documented datasets on the schedule you choose. For a multi-country retailer like AUTODOC that means one crawler per shop - the same catalogue repeated across many domains, each with its own language, currency and price - joined into one dataset. Every project starts with a free assessment, and you can order a sample before committing.

FAQ

Do you offer an AUTODOC API for part and price data?

Yes. Our ScrapeIt AUTODOC API serves article number, EAN, OE numbers, price, RRP and stock per shop as JSON from an endpoint we host, updated on the schedule you choose. The same rows are available as CSV or XLSX files, through a JSON feed, or loaded into your database.

Is it legal to scrape AUTODOC?

Yes. Product cards, prices, specifications, OE references and ratings are shown to every visitor without an account. We collect only publicly available data - everything a visitor can see on AUTODOC - and we collect it legally, leaving out reviewer names and anything behind a login.

Why do AUTODOC prices change, and how often should they be collected?

A product card shows only the current price, discount badge and RRP comparison, and each country shop prices the same article on its own, so a change is visible only against an earlier run. For pricing work we collect daily; for catalogue and fitment work, weekly is usually enough. Every row carries its collection time, so you see exactly when a change happened.

Can you keep a separate AUTODOC price history for each country shop?

Yes. Each shop is crawled on its own - autodoc.de, autodoc.co.uk, auto-doc.fr, the Nordic, Baltic and Central European shops or the English-language versions - so every article number gets one price series per shop. Rows are also joined on article number and EAN, so one product can be compared across markets on the same day.

Can you match AUTODOC parts to an OE number?

Yes. Product cards list the OE reference numbers each part is comparable with, grouped by carmaker, and the Alternatives block names other brands' equivalents. We deliver these as a cross-reference table, so one OE number leads to the matching aftermarket articles AUTODOC lists, each with its brand and price.
