Sell proxies, unblockers and extraction endpoints. Bright Data, Oxylabs, ScraperAPI and Zyte API belong here. Your engineers still write and maintain every parser.
Managed Web Scraping Services Compared
A managed web scraping service is one where the vendor writes the scraper, hosts it, monitors it, repairs it when the target website changes, and delivers structured data on a schedule. You receive a dataset, not software. This page compares the main managed providers on the criteria that actually differ between them: pricing transparency, jurisdiction, minimum sensible engagement, and where the maintenance burden sits.
What separates managed from everything else
Sell a console and a library of ready-made scrapers you configure yourself. Apify, Octoparse and Browse AI belong here. You operate the job.
Managed services sell the finished dataset. ScrapeIt, Zyte Data, ScrapeHero, PromptCloud and Grepsr belong here. Nothing runs on your side.
The distinction matters commercially. Infrastructure looks dramatically cheaper on a spreadsheet because it excludes the two largest real costs of scraping: writing parsers and repairing them forever.
Managed providers compared
| Provider | Based in | Pricing | Entry point | Best fit |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| ScrapeIt | Poland, EU | Published in full. EUR 199 one-time, EUR 169 to EUR 549 per month, setup fee stated. | EUR 199 one-time, up to 100,000 rows | A defined target list, 100k to 3M rows a month, EU processing, no engineering capacity to spare |
| Zyte Data | Ireland, EU | Quoted per project. Platform products priced publicly. | Sales conversation | Enterprise procurement, very large scale, teams already using Scrapy |
| ScrapeHero | United States | Entry points published, from 199 USD per month subscription and 550 USD per month on demand. | From 199 USD per month | Popular targets already in their catalogue, US counterparty preference, off-the-shelf datasets |
| PromptCloud | India | Quoted per engagement. | Sales conversation | Enterprise-scale multi-vertical feeds, very high volume |
| Grepsr | United States and Nepal | Quoted, with published plan tiers. | Sales conversation | Recurring feeds with workflow tooling around them |
Two things stand out. First, most managed vendors do not publish prices, so budget approval is impossible before a scoping call. Second, jurisdiction varies widely, which decides the shortlist immediately for anyone with an EU data protection requirement.
How to evaluate a managed provider
- Ask who repairs a scraper after a redesign, and how fast. Target sites change markup several times a year. A managed contract that does not cover repair inside the fee is not managed.
- Ask for real sample output from one of your own targets. Not a demo dataset. Your target, your fields. Any capable vendor can produce this quickly, and it exposes quality problems that no proposal will.
- Ask how silent failure is detected. Scrapers rarely stop. They return 60 percent of the rows, or one field quietly empties. Ask what monitors row counts and field fill rates, and what happens when they move.
- Ask what happens to your data afterwards. Retention period, deletion process, subprocessor locations, and whether a DPA is available when personal data is in scope.
- Ask for the row ceiling in writing. "Unlimited" is never true. A stated ceiling per tier is what makes a bill predictable.
- Check what happens when a target blocks you. Anti-bot escalation is normal. Confirm it is the vendor's problem and not a change order.
Typical cost of managed web scraping
Across the managed market, small recurring feeds start in the low hundreds per month. Mid-sized programmes covering a handful of sites with daily refresh typically sit between EUR 200 and EUR 600 per month once setup is amortised. One-time extracts are cheaper but are rarely priced openly. For context, ScrapeIt publishes EUR 199 for a one-time extract of up to 100,000 rows, and EUR 169 to EUR 549 per month for recurring plans between 250,000 and 3,000,000 rows, with a setup fee of EUR 499 or EUR 799 depending on tier.
Compare that against the in-house alternative honestly: an engineer maintaining scrapers part-time is the single largest cost in most scraping programmes, and it is the one that never appears in the build-versus-buy spreadsheet. We wrote that comparison out in detail in the hidden costs of in-house scraping.
Where ScrapeIt fits
Good fit
- A defined target list at mid-sized volume
- Buyers who want a predictable invoice
- Anyone who needs an EU counterparty and a DPA
- Teams with nobody free to repair a parser
Poor fit
- You want raw proxy access
- A maintained ready-made scraper already covers your target
- The programme is large and open-ended enough that an enterprise bench matters more than pricing transparency
ScrapeIt is a managed provider registered in Poland as Scrapeit Sp. z o.o., trading since 2021. It builds a scraper per target rather than selling from a catalogue, publishes its complete price list, signs a mutual NDA as standard and a DPA where personal data is genuinely in scope, and delivers to CSV, JSON, JSONLines, XML or XLSX over SFTP, FTP, cloud storage, email, or straight into a customer API or database.

Frequently asked questions
What is a managed web scraping service?
A service where the vendor writes the scraper, hosts it, monitors it, repairs it when the target website changes, and delivers structured data on a schedule. You receive a dataset rather than software, and nothing runs on your infrastructure.
How much do managed web scraping services cost?
Small recurring feeds start in the low hundreds per month. Mid-sized programmes covering a handful of sites with daily refresh typically sit between EUR 200 and EUR 600 per month once setup is amortised. ScrapeIt publishes EUR 199 for a one-time extract of up to 100,000 rows and EUR 169 to EUR 549 per month for recurring plans. Most other managed vendors quote per project.
Which managed web scraping service is best?
It depends on scale and jurisdiction. Zyte Data and PromptCloud suit enterprise-scale programmes. ScrapeHero suits popular targets already in its catalogue and buyers wanting a US counterparty. ScrapeIt suits defined target lists at mid-sized volume where the buyer wants published pricing and an EU processor.
Do I need a DPA for web scraping?
Only when the data genuinely includes personal data. Public product prices and property listings usually do not. Reviewer names, profiles and contact details usually do. A serious vendor will tell you which category your project falls into during scoping and sign a DPA when it applies.
What happens when a target website changes its layout?
On a managed service the vendor detects it and repairs the scraper inside the agreed fee. This is the single most important question to ask, because target sites change markup several times a year and repair is the largest ongoing cost in any scraping programme. If repair is billed as a change order, the service is not really managed.
