How Our Tesla Inventory Scraper Runs

  1. You send

Tesla pages, filters, fields and a schedule

  2. We run the scrapers

Built, monitored and repaired by our team

  3. You receive the data

API, JSON feed or CSV, XLSX and JSON files

You name the markets, models and conditions - Model Y and Model 3 in the US, Canada and the UK, say, new and Certified Pre-Owned - and how often to look. We build the crawler around tesla.com's own layout: the inventory search for each locale, the vehicle page behind every card, and the design pages where a fresh order is priced. We run it, repair it when Tesla reworks a page, and deliver daily, weekly or on demand.

Inventory results are drawn by script and sit behind bot protection, so rendering, pacing, proxy rotation and CAPTCHA handling are part of the service rather than your problem. A free project assessment comes before any build, and field documentation ships with the first file.

What Goes into a Tesla Dataset

Every row is one car. A Certified Pre-Owned car is keyed on its VIN, which Tesla prints on the vehicle page and puts in the address - /my/order/ followed by the VIN for a used Model Y. New cars show no VIN, so they keep the identifier from their own page address. Built that way, a Tesla dataset survives re-runs: each car keeps its key when the price drops or it moves to another location.

  • IdentityVIN on used cars, vehicle page URL, model (Model S, Model 3, Model X, Model Y, Cybertruck), trim such as Long Range All-Wheel Drive, model year and country site.
  • ConditionNew Vehicle, Demo Vehicle or Certified Pre-Owned, the Repaired flag Tesla can add to new and used cars alike, odometer reading, and on used cars the history line No Reported Accidents/Damage or Previously Repaired.
  • Pricevehicle price, the Reduced by amount when a cut is shown, and the estimated monthly figure for financing, with cash and lease views where you need them.
  • Configurationpaint name, wheel size and wheel name, interior, seat layout with five or seven seats, tow hitch, and Autosteer or other listed features.
  • Performancerange (EPA est. on new cars, est. on used ones), top speed and 0-60 mph time.
  • Included trialsmonths of Full Self-Driving (Supervised), Supercharging and Premium Connectivity trials attached to the car.
  • Warrantythe Limited Warranty of a new car or the Used Vehicle Limited Warranty of a Certified Pre-Owned one, and the Battery and Drive Unit Limited Warranty, which used cars show as an end date and mileage.
  • Locationthe Located in or Available to view in city, the Demo Drive badge, and the delivery location options for a registration ZIP.

Links to the inspection checklist and the vehicle history report are kept as URLs, and the open-recall note is stored as the page words it, so nothing is paraphrased.

What Goes into a Tesla Dataset
Tesla Price History and Market Coverage

Tesla Price History and Market Coverage

A single pass is a snapshot, and Tesla inventory does not sit still: cars sell and drop off, new cars arrive, and Reduced by badges appear on some cars and vanish from others. Running the same searches on a schedule turns snapshots into a Tesla price history per car - first seen, each price change, the day a cut appeared and the last day the car was listed. Tesla prints no listing date, so the first-seen date we record is the closest thing to one.

Coverage comes from the search side. Certified Pre-Owned results filter by model, trim, payment type, mileage and year, paint, wheels, interior, self-driving package, seat layout, condition and Demo Drive availability; new inventory keeps the model, trim, payment, paint, wheel, interior, seat layout and option filters. Results sort by price, mileage, year or distance, with a search area around a registration ZIP that reaches up to All Deliverable. We combine those filters so every car in a market is reached, not only the first screen.

The design pages add the other half of a Tesla price tracker: the configured price of a new car, with paint, wheels, tow hitch and interior priced as options and the range each wheel choice gives. Placed next to inventory prices, they show how far a car already built sits below a fresh order of the same trim.

tesla.com is the carmaker's own shop, and its inventory section is where Tesla sells cars that already exist rather than ones built to order. There are no outside sellers: each car is listed and priced by Tesla and shown at, or deliverable from, a Tesla location. Two tabs split the section - New, and Certified Pre-Owned, which Tesla describes as inspected and refurbished with an extended one-year warranty. A car that has had repair work carries the word Repaired in its condition line, whether it is new or used.

The section repeats per market. Each country has its own locale path - /en_ca for Canada, /en_gb for the United Kingdom, /de_de for Germany, /ja_jp for Japan, /en_au for Australia - and mainland China runs on a separate tesla.cn domain. Within a market the address names the model in short form, my for Model Y and m3 for Model 3, plus the condition, new or used. Search cards show price with an estimated monthly payment, mileage, location and options; the full record sits on the vehicle page behind each card.

Why Collect Tesla Inventory Data

Tesla sets the prices on its inventory pages itself and changes them in public, so the fields read as the maker's own view of what each car is worth.

  • Residual valuesUsed Tesla prices by model, trim, year and odometer give a depreciation curve drawn from the seller of the car.
  • Price monitoringDealers, lenders and analysts track Tesla prices by model and country, and watch the Reduced by amounts to see where discounting runs deepest.
  • Remarketing and trade-inA dealer pricing a used Model 3 or Model Y compares it with Certified Pre-Owned cars of the same trim, wheels and accident history.
  • Inventory pressureCounting new cars per model and location, and how long each car stays listed, shows where unsold cars build up.
  • Packaging per marketSeat layout, tow hitch and the self-driving and Supercharging trials attached to each car show how Tesla bundles its cars country by country.

About ScrapeIt

ScrapeIt is a managed web scraping service: we build, run and repair the crawlers, and you receive the data. Vehicle inventories suit the way we work - one stable identifier per car, prices that move between runs and a separate site per country. For Tesla that means one row per car, keyed on the VIN wherever Tesla shows it, in CSV, Excel or JSON files delivered on your schedule to Amazon S3, Google Drive or straight into your database. Plans start from EUR 169 a month, or EUR 199 for a one-time extract.

FAQ

Still unsure? Write to info@scrapeit.io

Do you offer a Tesla API for inventory data?

Yes. The ScrapeIt Tesla API returns VIN, model, trim, condition, odometer and vehicle price as JSON from an endpoint we host, refreshed on the schedule you set. The same records also arrive as CSV or XLSX files, a JSON feed or a load into your database.

Is it legal to scrape Tesla?

Yes. The inventory and design pages are public: price, trim, odometer, options and, on used cars, the VIN are shown to anyone who opens tesla.com, with no account needed. We collect only publicly available data - everything a visitor can see on Tesla - and we collect it legally.

Can you scrape Tesla inventory in Canada, the UK and other countries?

Yes. Each market has its own locale path on tesla.com, such as /en_ca or /en_gb, with its own cars and prices, so we run every country as a separate source and add a country column. Prices and distances are kept as each country site shows them.

How often do Tesla inventory prices change?

There is no fixed rhythm: between any two visits cars gain or lose a Reduced by badge, disappear when sold and are replaced by new arrivals. A weekly file can miss those moves, so price tracking projects usually run daily, and each run is dated so changes line up per car.

Which Tesla fields come from the vehicle page rather than the search results?

Search cards carry trim, price, monthly estimate, odometer, location, wheel size, seats and trial badges. Paint and interior names, the VIN of a used car, top speed, 0-60 mph, warranty terms, accident status and the inspection and history report links come from the vehicle page, so we open each vehicle page and refresh it when its card changes.
