foodpanda Data Collection as a Managed Service

You pick the country sites, cities, cuisines or restaurant lists and the cadence; we build the foodpanda crawler, run it and keep it working when the pages change. foodpanda puts a human-verification page in front of traffic it does not trust, so pacing, proxy rotation, browser rendering and CAPTCHA handling are part of the service. Restaurant pages are reached from the public city and cuisine listings, so a run does not depend on a delivery address.

Every row carries the restaurant code from the URL and a country column, and the fields are documented. Files arrive as CSV, XLSX, JSON or JSONLines, or land in Amazon S3, Google Cloud Storage or your database; our API and a JSON feed serve the same rows. A free project assessment shows what a run will cover before you order a sample.

foodpanda Menu With Prices: Fields We Collect

A foodpanda restaurant lives at /restaurant/ followed by a short alphanumeric code and a slug, as in /restaurant/s3ql/shakeys-pizza-jose-abad-santos on foodpanda.ph. The code is the stable part of the address, so it is the key that joins runs.

  • Restaurant - name and branch (the part after the hyphen, usually a street or district), restaurant code, URL, country site, city, cuisine tags and the breadcrumb path such as Restaurants, Pizza Restaurants, Pizza in Manila.
  • Ratings - average rating out of five and the review count, printed exactly for small numbers and in rounded bands such as 100+ or 1000+ above them.
  • Costs to the customer - the delivery fee shown on the page, the Free delivery for first order note, the Min. order value and the small order fee charged below it.
  • Deals - discount tags in the forms foodpanda prints (a percentage off, Up to a percentage or an amount off, an amount off above a minimum spend), the Available deals block with its conditions such as Valid for selected items and Auto applied, and the App-only deals flag.
  • Status - the New badge, the Now open until line with its closing time, opening hours by day, and the In-Store Price badge where a restaurant carries it.
  • Menu - menu categories with their item counts (Popular, What's New and the restaurant's own sections) and, for all menu items, the name, description, price, the from price when options change it, and the crossed-out original beside a discounted price.
  • Location - the street address from the More info panel.

The Popular category, captioned Most ordered right now, is foodpanda's own ranking of a restaurant's best sellers, and we keep it as a flag on each item, which turns a plain price list into a list of what actually sells.

foodpanda Delivery Prices, Deals and Price History

foodpanda Delivery Prices, Deals and Price History

Coverage is built from foodpanda's own directory. The country sites keep indexes of all cities and all cuisines; city pages list restaurants as cards, cuisine pages such as Pizza in Manila narrow the list, and area pages (Areas delivered in Lahore, Karachi or Islamabad) go down to districts. Crawling these city pages gives every restaurant with its card fields - rating, review band, delivery time, price range, cuisine, delivery fee, deal tag and the New badge - before a single restaurant page is opened.

Repeated runs turn a menu snapshot into price history. Keyed on restaurant code and item, each run records food prices, the crossed-out original and the deal attached, so a price increase shows up on the day it appears, along with which dishes go on discount and for how long. For delivery prices, foodpanda states that the fee depends on time of day, distance and surge conditions, so runs at fixed hours keep the figures comparable.

Shops are listed next to restaurants, and pandamart, foodpanda's grocery delivery, has its own section on the country sites; grocery coverage is scoped per project.

How foodpanda Is Organised by Country and City

foodpanda is the food and grocery delivery brand of Delivery Hero in Asia - the Hong Kong site names Delivery Hero Food Hong Kong Limited as its operator. There is no single global catalogue: each market runs on its own domain with its own restaurants, deals and language. foodpanda.ph lists prices in pesos, foodpanda.hk in Hong Kong dollars, foodpanda.com.tw opens in Chinese, and foodpanda.pk serves Pakistani cities from Lahore to Islamabad.

Inside a country the site is a directory: country, city, area, cuisine, restaurant. Restaurant names carry a branch suffix, as in Shakey's Pizza - Jose Abad Santos on foodpanda.ph or Suadish Biryani - Blue Area and Suadish Biryani - F 10 on foodpanda.pk, so a chain appears once per outlet, each with its own rating, menu and deals. Badges differ by market: Pakistani and Taiwanese listings show an in-store price badge, and the Taiwanese site adds a local-favourite badge. Some dish names and descriptions are machine-translated, which foodpanda flags with a note about AI translations.

Next to Delivery, the sites have Pick-Up and pandamart tabs, and foodpanda.hk adds foodpanda mall. pandapro is the subscription programme and pandago the Request a Rider service.

Why Scrape foodpanda Restaurants and Menus

A foodpanda dataset answers questions that no single restaurant menu can.

  • Menu price benchmarking - what a burger, a milk tea or a family pizza costs across chains and independents in one city, and how one chain prices its different outlets.
  • Price increases and price markup - repeated runs show when menu prices rise, and the In-Store Price badge separates restaurants that promise counter prices from the rest, which is where markup comparisons start.
  • Promotion tracking - deal tags, first-order free delivery and App-only deals show how hard each brand discounts and for how long.
  • Market mapping - restaurants per city, area and cuisine, new openings marked New, and opening hours give a footprint for site selection and sales planning.
  • Quality signals - average rating with its review band ranks outlets of the same chain against each other.
  • Cross-country views - one schema across the Philippines, Pakistan, Taiwan and Hong Kong compares menus and discount habits between markets.

How Artificial Intelligence Is Used In Web Scraping

How Artificial Intelligence Is Used In Web Scraping

Leveraging advances in technology, the AI-powered web scraper has skyrocketed in demand and is helping to expand capabilities by automating tedious daily tasks and speeding up data collection from thousands of websites several times over.

What is Web Scraping and What is it Used For?

What is Web Scraping and What is it Used For?

Web scraping is a method of obtaining web data by extracting it from pages of web resources with the help of a program, that is, in automatic mode. It is used to syntactically convert web pages into more usable forms.

About ScrapeIt

ScrapeIt runs data collection as a service: we build the crawlers, keep them running and hand over the files. Delivery apps are a steady part of that work - menus edited by the restaurant at any hour, deals that expire, the same chain listed once per branch. On foodpanda every row is keyed on the restaurant code and the country site, so cities and runs join cleanly. Restaurants are businesses and are collected by name; reviewers and couriers are personal data, kept out by default and handled under GDPR.

FAQ

Do you offer a foodpanda API for menus and prices?

Yes. The ScrapeIt foodpanda API serves restaurant code, name and branch, cuisine, rating with its review band, minimum order and each menu item with its price as JSON from an endpoint we host, refreshed on your schedule. The same rows can also arrive as CSV or JSONLines files, through a JSON feed or loaded into your database.

Is it legal to scrape foodpanda?

Yes. City listings, restaurant pages, menus with prices, deals, minimum orders and ratings are all shown to visitors who are not logged in. We collect only publicly available data - everything a visitor can see on foodpanda - and we collect it legally, leaving reviewer names out.

Which foodpanda countries do you cover?

We work across the foodpanda country sites, for example foodpanda.ph, foodpanda.pk, foodpanda.com.tw and foodpanda.hk. Each site is crawled on its own, because restaurants, prices and badges are local, and the delivery stacks them into one table with a country column and the local currency.

How often do foodpanda menu prices change?

Each restaurant edits its own menu and deals rotate, so prices and discount tags can change on any day, while opening status changes within the day. Price monitoring usually runs daily, a deal tracker several times a day, and a city-wide restaurant census weekly.

Can you track foodpanda price increases over time?

Yes. We revisit the same restaurants on a schedule and store each item's price, crossed-out original and deal on every run, so a price increase shows up as a dated change. Delivery fee figures are captured at fixed times of day, because foodpanda sets them by time, distance and surge.

How does it Work?
