How we run it for you

You name the states, suburbs or postcodes, the listing types (sale, rent, sold, project) and the fields. We build the crawlers, run them on your schedule, and repair them when Domain changes its markup, its listing IDs or the shape of its project and profile pages. Domain is heavy on dynamic rendering and rate limits, so collection is paced and monitored rather than brute forced, and we take public listing pages only.

You get CSV, JSON, XLSX, an API feed or a direct write into your database. No infrastructure and no code on your side.

Fields we collect from Domain.com.au

A standard Domain.com.au extraction covers:

  • Listing identity - the numeric listing ID that closes the URL slug, canonical URL, listing type (sale, rent, new development, sold) and status such as New, Under Offer, Sold, Leased or Deposit Taken.
  • Address - unit and street number, street, suburb, state code, four digit postcode, coordinates, and the matching property profile URL for the same address.
  • Price - the display string exactly as published (guide range, Auction, Contact Agent, Offers Above, EOI or POA), parsed low and high values in AUD, weekly rent and bond for rentals.
  • Attributes - property type (House, Apartment / Unit / Flat, Townhouse, Villa, Duplex, Terrace, Studio, Acreage / Semi-rural, Vacant land), bedrooms, bathrooms, parking, land size and internal area in square metres.
  • Auction and inspection - auction date, time and venue, open for inspection windows, sale method, sold date and sold price where published.
  • Agent and agency - agent name, agency name and branch, agency profile URL, contact details as published.
  • Content - headline, full description, feature chips, photo and floorplan URLs, video or tour link, first seen and last seen dates.

Less obvious fields and derived signals

Less obvious fields and derived signals

On request we also pull fields that sit outside the main listing card and signals that only appear once history is kept:

  • Domain Says estimated value and its confidence band, plus the property history block on the profile page that lists earlier sales and earlier rental campaigns for the same address.
  • Nearby schools and catchment names, EER star ratings on ACT listings, and the Statement of Information attached to Victorian sale listings with its indicative range and comparable sales.
  • Strata levies, council and water rates where the agent states them in the description or the details panel.
  • Project listings broken out into their child unit types, price from values and display suite details.
  • Derived history: days on market from first seen, every price change with its date, relisting and withdrawal detection, sale method outcomes, and asking rent matched to sale prices in the same suburb and property type.

What Domain.com.au is

Domain.com.au is one of the largest residential property portals in Australia, operated by Domain Group alongside Allhomes for Canberra and the ACT and commercialrealestate.com.au for commercial stock. Coverage runs across every state and territory, with addresses written as street number, street, suburb, state code (NSW, VIC, QLD, SA, WA, TAS, NT, ACT) and a four digit postcode.

The site carries several distinct inventories side by side: properties for sale, properties for rent, new apartments and land estates sold as projects, and an archive of sold results and auction results. Listings are in English and every amount is in Australian dollars, with rent quoted per week rather than per month. Beyond the live listing feed, Domain publishes property profile pages keyed to an address rather than to a listing, suburb profiles, nearby school and catchment information, and the Domain Says automated price estimate with its confidence band.

Why businesses collect Domain data

Australian residential pricing is read suburb by suburb and week by week, and Domain carries the sale, rental, sold and auction records for the same address in one place. Agencies track competitor stock inside their own catchment, watch how long a rival listing sits before the guide range is revised or drops back to Contact Agent, and see which vendors go to auction rather than private treaty.

Lenders, valuers and proptech teams pair live sale listings with sold results to build comparable sets and to test their own automated valuations against Domain Says and against the price actually achieved. Build to rent and property management operators track weekly asking rents by bedroom count and property type across a set of postcodes, since Domain quotes rent per week rather than per month. Developers watch new apartment and land estate projects appear in their catchment. Investors and researchers reconstruct auction clearance patterns per suburb per weekend from published results rather than waiting on summary reports.

Real estate teams are operating in a data environment that is bigger, faster, and more fragmented than ever. Listings go live and disappear in hours, price cuts happen quietly, and the portals that matter most in each country are rarely the same global “top 5.”

About ScrapeIt

ScrapeIt is a fully managed web scraping service. You tell us the target sites and the fields you need; we build, run and maintain the crawlers and deliver structured data on a schedule. When a site changes, fixing it is our job, not yours.

We work with public data only, take no personal data beyond what is publicly published, hold a GDPR and CCPA aligned posture, and sign confidentiality agreements. We do not bypass logins, paywalls or CAPTCHAs. Plans start from EUR 199.

FAQ

Can you collect sold prices and auction results?

Yes. Sold date, sold price where Domain publishes it, sale method and passed in flags, collected by suburb and by agency.

Do you access anything behind a Domain login?

No. We collect public listing pages only. We do not bypass logins, paywalls or CAPTCHAs, and we take no personal data beyond what is published.

How do you handle listings that show no price?

We keep the published string, such as Auction or Contact Agent, alongside any parsed range. Queensland auction listings carry no advertised price by law.

How often can the data be refreshed?

Daily suits active sale and rental stock. Auction results fit a weekly run after Saturday, and suburb level profile data a monthly one.

In what format do we receive the data?

CSV, JSON, XLSX, straight into your database or through an API, on the schedule you set. Managed plans start from EUR 199.

How does it Work?

Step 1 - Make a Request

You share your needs, expectations, and desired timeframe. We’ll suggest the best solution based on your request and budget.

Step 2 - Configuring Custom Web Crawlers

Our specialists configure the crawlers and extract a sample dataset for your review before proceeding with the full-scale extraction.

Step 3 - Collect and Deliver

Once you approve the sample, we launch the project and start full data collection. We gather, filter, and structure the data for easy use, delivering it on time in your preferred format.

Step 4 - Maintain and Support

Our team manages ongoing processes, monitors website changes, and supports all data extraction cycles. We can also help integrate data into your systems or create dashboards to simplify analysis.
