Learn MoreIAA puts a stock number, a loss type and a start code on every vehicle it auctions for insurers. Our IAAI scraper reads those pages branch by branch before the sale takes them down.

IAAI scraping is work we do for you end to end. You name the scope - all branches or a few, a vehicle category such as Cars, SUVs, Heavy Trucks or Motorcycles, an auction channel, a make list, a damage or title filter - and the schedule. We build the crawlers, keep them running and fix them when IAA changes a page.
iaai.com turns plain automated requests away, so proxy rotation, request pacing, rendering and CAPTCHA handling are included. We read the site as a guest and never sign in: live bidding and the imagery reserved for Premium Guest and Registered Buyer accounts stay out, and the seller field stays masked as a guest sees it. Start with a free assessment or a sample; deliveries come as CSV, XLSX, JSON or JSONLines by SFTP, to Amazon S3 or Google Drive, or through an endpoint we host.
IAA does not call its unit a lot. Each vehicle gets a stock number, and its detail page is addressed by an internal id with a country suffix. The page is laid out like an adjuster's file, and we keep its sections as field groups:
The start code deserves its own column. IAA grades every arrival as Run & Drive, Starts or Stationary and prints the grade beside the key and airbag status. Read together with the loss type - collision is one value among several - it tells a rebuilder more than the damage location does, so we never fold these fields into a single condition string. Lane, run, aisle and stall are kept as separate columns and stay empty until the page shows them.
The vehicle page is one of five public layers, and the other four are what make the data usable for planning.
A price history on IAA has to be built by observation. A vehicle that fails to sell in its first run can come back with a Buy Now Price, move to another auction date or change lane, and after the sale its page is eventually taken down. Runs repeated against the stock number keep each reading, so you see how long a vehicle stayed in inventory and how its public figures moved. IAAI prices in the bidding sense - current and winning bids - are not shown to guests.
IAA - Insurance Auto Auctions, today part of RB Global and run from Westchester, Illinois - sells total-loss, damaged and low-value vehicles for insurers, rental and fleet companies, dealerships and charities. People type iaai because that is the domain; the company signs itself IAA.
The site is organised around branches, not around a national catalogue. A vehicle belongs to a selling branch, the branch has a fixed weekly auction slot, and the sale list for that slot is the real unit of supply. On top of the branch auctions sit themed channels: Timed Auctions, Buy Now for vehicles that did not sell in their first run, Public Auctions for stock available to the public, Gov Auctions, Dream Rides for classic and exotic cars, Rec Rides for motorcycles and powersports, Specialty for trucks, trailers and RVs, and Virtual Lane, which is open round the clock.
What a guest sees is generous on description and closed on money. Damage, loss, title document, start code, odometer and Actual Cash Value are public; the seller is masked and bids appear after sign-in. This page covers the US inventory on iaai.com. IAA's header also links to separate sites for Canada (ca.iaai.com), the United Kingdom (iaai.co.uk) and Australia (iaai.com.au); each is scoped as a project of its own.

Learn MoreLearn how to use web scraping to solve data problems for your organization
Leveraging advances in technology, the AI-powered web scraper has skyrocketed in demand and is helping to expand capabilities by automating tedious daily tasks and speeding up data collection from thousands of websites several times over.
Web scraping is a method of obtaining web data by extracting it from pages of web resources with the help of a program, that is, in automatic mode. It is used to syntactically convert web pages into more usable forms.
If you specialize in machine learning, you need to feed large amounts of data to the algorithms. Web scraping is the easiest and the most efficient method of collecting the data from all over the Internet.
ScrapeIt builds and operates crawlers as a service and hands over the finished table. For salvage auctions that means reading many branch sale lists every day, joining them to vehicle pages on the stock number and keeping earlier readings instead of overwriting them.
Branches, insurers and dealers are businesses and appear as the site shows them. Branch managers are named on IAA's location pages; those names and e-mail addresses are personal data, and under GDPR we leave them out by default.
Yes. The ScrapeIt IAAI API returns stock number, selling branch, loss type, primary damage, start code, title/sale doc, Actual Cash Value and auction date as JSON from an endpoint we host, refreshed on the schedule you set. If you prefer files, the identical table is delivered as CSV, XLSX or JSONLines, or loaded into your database.
Yes. Vehicle pages, sale lists, the auction calendar and branch pages on iaai.com open without an account. We collect only publicly available data - everything a visitor can see on IAA - and we collect it legally. Bidding and the upgraded imagery sit behind sign-in, and we do not go there.
Three figures: the Actual Cash Value, the Estimated Repair Cost and, where the seller has set one, the Buy Now Price. Current bids and winning bids are not shown to guests, so they are not in the dataset. What repeated runs add is the movement of the public figures and of the auction status for each stock number.
Yes. The branch directory gives us every location, and for each one we collect the branch page, the upcoming sale lists and the vehicle page of every stock on them. A project can also be limited to chosen states or branches, to one vehicle category, or to channels such as Timed Auctions and Buy Now.
Daily is the working minimum. New stock arrives continuously and is picked up through the New Inventory filter, a branch sale list is still being updated on the eve of its auction, and a sold vehicle's page is taken down some time after the sale. A weekly run would miss vehicles that arrive and sell between two visits.
Step 1 - Make a Request
You share your needs, expectations, and desired timeframe. We’ll suggest the best solution based on your request and budget.
Step 2 - Configuring Custom Web Crawlers
Our specialists configure the crawlers and extract a sample dataset for your review before proceeding with the full-scale extraction.
Step 3 - Collect and Deliver
Once you approve the sample, we launch the project and start full data collection. We gather, filter, and structure the data for easy use, delivering it on time in your preferred format.
Step 4 - Maintain and Support
Our team manages ongoing processes, monitors website changes, and supports all data extraction cycles. We can also help integrate data into your systems or create dashboards to simplify analysis.
