Adzuna scraper for job ads, salaries and market stats

Adzuna prints an employer's salary when the ad has one and its own Jobsworth estimate when it does not. Our Adzuna scraper keeps the two apart, ad by ad.

Adzuna jobs data as a managed service

You tell us what to collect - which Adzuna country sites, which keywords, categories, companies or towns, and how often - and we build the crawler, run it and repair it whenever Adzuna changes a page. There is nothing to install. Adzuna meets unfamiliar automated traffic with a human verification page, so request pacing, proxy rotation, CAPTCHA handling and page rendering are part of the work we do, not a problem you inherit.

Each run lands as CSV, Excel, JSON or JSONLines, by FTP, Amazon S3 or e-mail, or through our own API, with field documentation for every column. Runs are one-off or scheduled daily, weekly or on demand. The project assessment is free, and a sample extract can be ordered before you commit.

Fields we extract from Adzuna job listings

Every Adzuna ad lives at /jobs/details/ followed by a numeric ad id, and that id is the key each row is stored under. One row per ad, with the fields Adzuna publishes on the search card and the ad page:

  • Identity - ad id, ad URL, country site, and the search or category page the row was found on.
  • Job - job title, the full job description, the category Adzuna files it under (IT Jobs, Accounting & Finance Jobs, Graduate Jobs and so on), contract type (Permanent or Contract) and hours (Full time or Part time).
  • Employer - company name, the Adzuna company page it links to, the review counter printed next to some company names, and the logo of the job site the ad arrived from, where the page shows one.
  • Location - the town line as printed, often with a region and a full postcode such as M2 4WU, the region and county from the breadcrumb (North West England, Greater Manchester), and the postcode and coordinates the ad page carries.
  • Salary - the advertised figure exactly as printed (a yearly range, a day rate, an hourly rate), parsed into minimum, maximum, currency and period; or, when the employer printed nothing, Adzuna's Jobsworth estimate in a column of its own, flagged as an estimate.
  • Badges - NEW, CLOSING SOON, TOP MATCH, EASY APPLY, ABOVE AVERAGE SALARY and REMOTE.
  • Dates and apply route - the posting date, the date the ad runs until, and whether the candidate applies on Adzuna itself or is sent on to the advertiser.
  • Ad statistics - the salary comparison on each ad page: this job against the national average, the category average and the regional average.

Recruiters' names, phone numbers and e-mail addresses that turn up inside a description are personal data, and we strip them out by default. Candidate profiles and CVs are never part of an Adzuna delivery.

Building an Adzuna dataset beyond the single ad

Building an Adzuna dataset beyond the single ad

Search pages are data in their own right. Each Adzuna results page opens with a headline count and an average salary for the query, and its filters carry vacancy counts: locations from the UK down to districts such as Rusholme or Hulme, categories, the companies with most ads, contract type and hours. Captured on every run, those counts become a vacancy index by town, sector or employer without opening a single ad.

Company pages under /jobs/company/ list one employer's live Adzuna listings, and their About tab adds the live job count, the average salary of the employer's current ads, the most advertised roles, a rating with its review count, and the employee numbers, industry, founding year and headquarters Adzuna has compiled. The Salary Stats Centre adds a page for a job title in a place - the average advertised salary, its year-on-year change, the live vacancy count and tables of the highest paying areas - and the UK Labour Market Stats page charts average salary and total vacancies month by month across the past year.

Repeated runs keyed on the ad id record when an ad appears, when CLOSING SOON shows up and when the ad drops out, which gives time-on-site per role and a salary history. Adzuna also shows one vacancy more than once: an agency's ad can sit twice in the same Manchester search under two ids, and one role can carry two slightly different Jobsworth figures. We match these on employer, title, location and text and mark the duplicates instead of dropping them.

About Adzuna and its country sites

Adzuna is a job search engine rather than a job board: it gathers ads from employers, agencies and other job sites into one index and adds its own layer on top - salary estimates, salary statistics and a TOP MATCH flag. It launched in the UK in 2011, is headquartered in South-West London and has offices in Sydney, Minneapolis and Paris.

The UK site, adzuna.co.uk, is one of a family of country sites on separate domains: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, India, Italy, Mexico, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Poland, Singapore, South Africa, Spain, Switzerland and the USA, which sits on adzuna.com. Each country keeps its own index, so a multi-country project means one crawl per domain.

Inside a country the site is organised three ways. Browse By Industry splits ads into categories from Accounting & Finance Jobs to Travel Jobs. View Jobs by Location runs from regions through counties to towns, and the breadcrumb on every ad repeats that path. Company pages and Popular Searches cover large employers such as the NHS, Tesco or Royal Mail. The advanced search adds an exact phrase, words in the title only, a company field, a salary range, distance up to a hundred miles and ads added to Adzuna in the last day, three days or week, sorted by most recent, most relevant, highest or lowest salary.

What Adzuna labour market data is used for

Adzuna is at its most useful where one employer's careers page cannot help: comparing many employers, towns and roles at once. Teams that scrape Adzuna salary data usually start with one of these:

  • Salary benchmarking. Advertised ranges, parsed per year, day or hour, give pay bands per title and town. The Jobsworth column fills the gaps where employers print nothing and stays separate, so a benchmark can include or exclude modelled figures.
  • Labour market monitoring. Filter counts and the stats pages track vacancies by region, category and employer week by week - the raw material of a demand report.
  • Competitor hiring. Company pages show who is hiring, where and for which roles; a run of new ads in one city can reveal expansion plans early.
  • Recruitment business development. NEW flags point agencies to fresh roles, and the company filter on every search shows which employers advertise most in a town.
  • Graduate and entry-level tracking. The Graduate Jobs category is a ready-made slice for universities and careers services that follow graduate jobs data by sector and city.
  • Remote share. The REMOTE badge and filter show how much of each sector is offered as remote work.

How Artificial Intelligence Is Used In Web Scraping

How Artificial Intelligence Is Used In Web Scraping

Leveraging advances in technology, the AI-powered web scraper has skyrocketed in demand and is helping to expand capabilities by automating tedious daily tasks and speeding up data collection from thousands of websites several times over.

What is Web Scraping and What is it Used For?

What is Web Scraping and What is it Used For?

Web scraping is a method of obtaining web data by extracting it from pages of web resources with the help of a program, that is, in automatic mode. It is used to syntactically convert web pages into more usable forms.

Web Scraping for Machine Learning

If you specialize in machine learning, you need to feed large amounts of data to the algorithms. Web scraping is the easiest and the most efficient method of collecting the data from all over the Internet.

About ScrapeIt

ScrapeIt is a managed web scraping service: we build, run and repair the crawlers and hand over the dataset. Job boards and aggregators are among the sites we work with, and an aggregator like Adzuna asks for careful parsing more than raw volume - the same vacancy arrives from several sources, and salary fields mix printed and estimated figures. Personal data is handled under GDPR, and we do not build profiles of recruiters or candidates. Plans start from EUR 169 a month, or EUR 199 for a one-time extract.

FAQ

Do you offer an Adzuna API for job and salary data?

Yes. The ScrapeIt Adzuna API returns the ad id, job title, company, location, salary as printed or the Jobsworth estimate, contract type and badges as JSON from an endpoint we host, refreshed on the schedule you set. The same rows also arrive as CSV or XLSX files, through a JSON feed or loaded into your database.

Is it legal to scrape Adzuna?

Yes. Job ads, company pages and the Salary Stats Centre on adzuna.co.uk open to any visitor without an account. We collect only publicly available data - everything a visitor can see on Adzuna - and we collect it legally. Recruiter names and contact details inside ads are left out by default.

Which Adzuna country sites can you cover?

Any of them. Adzuna started on adzuna.co.uk and also runs sites for the USA on adzuna.com, Canada, Australia, India, South Africa, Singapore, Brazil, Mexico, New Zealand and nine other European countries. Each keeps its own index, so we crawl them separately and tag every row with its country site.

How often should Adzuna vacancy data be refreshed?

Daily for most uses. NEW badges and CLOSING SOON flags change from one day to the next and every ad carries an end date, so a weekly run misses short-lived vacancies. The salary statistics pages move more slowly, so a weekly or monthly pass over them is usually enough.

Can you separate real salaries from Jobsworth estimates?

Yes. On Adzuna an estimate is labelled JOBSWORTH on the search card and marked as estimated on the ad page, while employer figures are printed as given - per year, per day or per hour. We deliver the printed text, the parsed minimum, maximum and period, and a flag saying whether the figure came from the employer or from Adzuna's model.

How does it Work?

Step 1 - Make a Request

You share your needs, expectations, and desired timeframe. We’ll suggest the best solution based on your request and budget.

Step 2 - Configuring Custom Web Crawlers

Our specialists configure the crawlers and extract a sample dataset for your review before proceeding with the full-scale extraction.

Step 3 - Collect and Deliver

Once you approve the sample, we launch the project and start full data collection. We gather, filter, and structure the data for easy use, delivering it on time in your preferred format.

Step 4 - Maintain and Support

Our team manages ongoing processes, monitors website changes, and supports all data extraction cycles. We can also help integrate data into your systems or create dashboards to simplify analysis.
