Ferguson Scraper
Solutions

Ferguson data delivered as a managed service

You describe the scope: categories, brands or your own list of manufacturer part numbers, the branches or ZIP codes to read them at, and how often. We build the extraction, run it and fix it whenever ferguson.com changes its pages. The site turns away traffic that comes too fast, so pacing, proxy rotation, rendering and CAPTCHA handling are part of the service.

The crawler sees ferguson.com as a visitor without an account does: one product page prints a price for a guest, the next shows a Log in or Create Account button or the words Call for Pricing in its place, and the dataset says which is which. Runs are one-off or scheduled (daily, weekly, on demand) and arrive as CSV, Excel or JSON files, over SFTP or Amazon S3, or through our API. Every project starts with a free assessment, and a sample is available to order.

Ferguson prices, part numbers and specifications we collect

Three codes sit on one line under the product name, and they are not interchangeable. Item # is the number Ferguson assigns, and the product address ends with it. Part # is Ferguson's catalogue code - often the maker's number with a brand prefix in front. Manufacturer Part # is the maker's own, the key that joins a row to another distributor's catalogue or to your item master. Fields in a Ferguson dataset:

  • Identity - item number, part number, manufacturer part number, UPC where the page lists one, the page address and the category path from All Products down to the leaf category.
  • Product - brand, name, the Product Description bullets, image addresses, the selected size and the other sizes in the selector.
  • Price - the dollar amount and the unit of measure printed beside it: EACH, per 10 FOOT, per 20 FOOT. A computed price per single unit lets a ten-foot length and a twenty-foot length compare by the foot.
  • Price status - what stands in the price position: a figure, the Log in or Create Account button, the words Call for Pricing, or Unavailable. Without a figure the price column stays empty; nothing is estimated.
  • Availability - from the How to get it block: the Pick Up quantity at the store being shopped, the number of stores nearby that hold the item, and the Shipping line. Where a guest is asked to log in to see availability, the row says so.
  • Branch - the store set for the run, as the Store Selector writes it: city, state, ZIP code and type, for example Seattle, WA 98106 - Ferguson Plumbing/PVF.
  • Specifications - up to four tables, each kept as rows of attribute and value: Dimensions & Measurements, Characteristics & Features, Electrical & Operational Information, Warranty & Product Information. The last one holds what a specifier looks for - ANSI, ASTM, NSF, UL Listed, IAPMO Listed and the lead law compliance level.
  • Documents and rating - links to the specification sheet, the warranty and the installation instructions where the page offers them; the customer rating out of five and the number of reviews.

When a page carries the notice This product has been replaced by, the replacement's name, brand and manufacturer part number are stored beside the retired item.

A Ferguson price list by branch, category and brand

A Ferguson price list by branch, category and brand

A product page answers for one item at one store. Categories, filters, promotions and the branch network are what turn those answers into a Ferguson price list.

  • Categories. All Products opens the departments, from Bathroom and Heating & Cooling to Pipe & Tubing, Pipe Fittings, Valves and Water Heaters, with more under Additional Categories. Each listing states its product count and offers two sort orders, Best Match and Best Selling.
  • Filters. In Stock at Branch comes first, then Brand and attributes that follow the category - Valve Size, End Connections, Material and Pressure Class for ball valves. Filter values carry counts, which makes them an assortment table in their own right.
  • Listing cards. A card repeats the three part numbers, the customer rating, the price with its unit where a guest is shown one, and the Pick Up and Shipping lines.
  • Branches. Repeating the pass for each branch or ZIP code on your list puts availability side by side. Branch pages add the location type, address, phone and opening hours by weekday.
  • Price history. Only today's figure is on the page. Scheduled runs that key each row on item number and branch keep the earlier ones, so a new price, an empty shelf or a switch from a printed price to the login button gets a date.
  • Promotions and Shop by Job. Each campaign in the Promotions menu opens the list of items it covers. A job page, such as Residential Gas Water Heater Replacement, lists under What You'll Need the product categories that one task calls for.

About Ferguson: a trade distributor with a branch behind every page

Ferguson is a North American distributor headquartered in Newport News, Virginia. Its own summary of the range runs from plumbing, HVAC, appliances and lighting to PVF - pipe, valves and fittings - and water and wastewater products. It sells to trade professionals through local branches and through ferguson.com, and the home page sorts those customers by industry: Plumbing, HVAC, Commercial / Mechanical, Facilities Supply, Fire & Fabrication, Industrial, Builder and Waterworks.

Every page of ferguson.com is read from the standpoint of one store. The header reads You're Shopping, followed by a city and a street address, and stock on listings and product pages is quoted for that store and the ones near it. A visitor changes it in the Store Selector by ZIP code or by city and state. Locations come in types - Plumbing/PVF, HVAC, Waterworks, Mechanical/Industrial, Fire & Fabrication, Showroom - and each has a page of its own.

The catalogue mixes national manufacturers with Ferguson's own labels, among them FNW, PROFLO, PROSELECT, Raptor and Durastar. What a guest learns about price depends on the item. A ball valve or a length of PVC pipe carries a figure and an Add to Cart button; many air conditioners, heat pumps and furnaces under Residential Equipment carry only the login button, and the site keeps what it calls exclusive pricing for account holders. This page describes the guest view alone. Home shoppers are sent to Ferguson Home, a separate site that is not covered here.

Why scrape Ferguson prices and availability

Ferguson keeps its exclusive pricing for account holders, so the figure it prints for any visitor is the number a competitor, a supplier and a customer can all point to. Read with the branch quantities beside it, the catalogue supports several kinds of work.

  • Price positioning. A plumbing or HVAC supplier sets its own price for a ball valve, a water heater or a twenty-foot length of pipe against Ferguson's, joined on the manufacturer part number and compared in the same unit of measure.
  • House labels against national brands. FNW, PROFLO and the other Ferguson labels sit in the same listings as the manufacturers they compete with. Brand, price and customer rating in one table show how each is positioned.
  • Local availability. Pick Up quantities by branch show where an item can be collected today, where only shipping is offered and how many stores nearby hold it.
  • Specification data. Catalogue teams fill their own product records with UPC, dimensions, materials and the approvals under Warranty & Product Information, lead law compliance among them.
  • Range changes. Replaced-by notices and items that turn Unavailable show which products are being retired and what takes their place.
  • Job costing. The categories a Shop by Job page lists under What You'll Need are a ready checklist of materials, and the dataset puts current guest prices against it.

About ScrapeIt

ScrapeIt runs data collection as a managed service: you describe the dataset, and we build, run and repair the crawlers behind it. On Ferguson the care goes into details that are easy to get wrong - three part numbers that must each land in their own column, a price quoted per piece on one item and per twenty feet on the next, and a price position that sometimes holds no figure at all. Field documentation comes with every dataset.

Plans start from EUR 169 a month, or EUR 199 for a one-time extract. We never log in and never go behind paywalls, and personal data is handled under GDPR.

FAQ

Do you offer a Ferguson API for part numbers, prices and branch stock?

Yes. The ScrapeIt Ferguson API returns Item #, Part #, Manufacturer Part #, brand, the price with its unit of measure, the price status and the Pick Up quantity by branch as JSON from an endpoint we host, refreshed on the schedule you set. The same data also comes as CSV or XLSX files, a JSON feed or straight into your database.

Is it legal to scrape Ferguson?

Yes. Anyone can open Ferguson product pages, specification tables and branch pages and, on part of the catalogue, see a price and availability, all without an account. We collect only publicly available data - everything a visitor can see on Ferguson - and we collect it legally. Prices that appear only after signing in are never collected, because we never log in.

Do you collect Ferguson plumbing prices for every item?

For every item whose page prints one. A guest sees a figure on part of the catalogue; elsewhere the price position holds a Log in or Create Account button or the words Call for Pricing. Those rows arrive with their identifiers and specifications, an empty price and a status that says why, and we never log in to fill it.

Can a Ferguson price tracker follow several branches at once?

Yes. Give us branch addresses or ZIP codes and the items or categories to watch, and each run reads them at every branch on the list. Rows are keyed on item number and branch and stamped with the run date, so a daily or weekly schedule becomes a price history with availability beside it.

How do I match Ferguson items to my own catalogue?

By the Manufacturer Part #, printed under the product name, and by the UPC where the specification tables list one. Ferguson's own Part # often adds a brand prefix to the maker's number, so it goes into a separate column and is not used as the join key. Send us your part list and we return the items found on the site, each with the code it was matched on.
