ZEE5 data fields: IDs, audio tracks, access tier and licence window
Every ZEE5 record has an ID whose prefix names its type: 0-0 for films and videos, 0-6 for TV shows and web series, 0-2 for seasons, 0-1 for episodes, 0-8 for collections, 0-9 for live channels, 0-10 for programme slots and 0-11 for subscription plans. The slug in front of it is decoration - any slug redirects to the canonical one - so the ID is the join key between runs.
A film or show record carries title and original title, asset type, release date, duration in seconds, genres, cast as actor and character pairs, directors, content owner, an age rating on the U, U/A 7+, U/A 13+, U/A 16+ and A scale with descriptors such as Mild Violence, and three language arrays: languages, audio tracks and subtitles. The access tier is a field - free, ad-supported, premium or tvod for rentals - and each page also states the licence window for the territory being read: 2099 for much of Zee's own library, May 2030 for a licensed Bhojpuri film.
Two traps sit in the language data. ZEE5 writes Bhojpuri as hr, which ISO 639 reserves for Croatian, and Haryanvi as hv, so a standard lookup relabels whole shelves; we map codes with ZEE5's own table. And dubbing comes in two shapes. Newer films carry every dub as an audio track on one ID, which is why a ZEE5 movies list in Telugu includes Tamil and Malayalam originals. Older dubs and serials dubbed for export are separate records flagged Dubbed, with new IDs and new titles: Zee TV's Guddan Tumse Na Ho Payega runs in German as Guddan, Das Wird Dir Nicht Gelingen, tied to its original only by a tag. We keep both shapes and link them.
Shows nest into seasons and episodes, and each season also counts its clips, webisodes, promos and previews. A daily soap can pass three thousand episodes in one season, so the ZEE5 list of web series and serials is small next to the episode table beneath it.
