Songkick has put new API keys on hold and licenses its data from $500 a month. Our Songkick scraper reads the public site instead: metro calendars, festival editions, venue archives and gig histories.
This Songkick API alternative is a crawl planned in Songkick's own units - metro area, month, venue, artist - which we host and fix when the markup shifts. Anti-bot handling, proxy rotation and CAPTCHA solving are part of the managed service; Songkick's edge refuses clients that do not behave like a browser, so collection runs in real browser sessions at a measured pace.
The default metro feed stops at about ten shows a day and the sitemap trails the calendars, so coverage comes from month and single-day views, checked against venue calendars. Seller links pass through a redirect path that robots.txt closes, so we record seller name, status and price instead, and we never sign in. Songkick offers no export of listings - its Bulk Upload Tool only takes CSV in - so each run becomes your Songkick export: CSV, JSON or XLSX, or rows in S3, SFTP or your warehouse.

Gig histories run deepest. Songkick says some of its events date back to the 1960s, and each artist's gigography lists them in pages of 50: date, venue with street address, city and country, co-billed acts, Outdoor and live-stream flags. The Rolling Stones list about 1,300 past shows, the earliest at the Marquee Club on 12 July 1962. Artist pages add derived stats: shows per year, most played metro areas (London 51 times, Los Angeles 48), miles travelled, a popularity rank and the acts shared most bills with.
Venues keep their own record. O2 Academy Brixton's past-concert list starts in September 1972, the year the building became a rock venue, so one venue id yields half a century of bookings.
Songkick festivals are two objects, and the series is noisy. Country hubs such as /festivals/countries/uk list what is coming. Glastonbury's series page holds 25 past entries, yet several are dates filed under the brand at unrelated rooms: Bury Town Hall, a venue in Southend, an arena in Cape Town. The real 2025 edition spans 25 to 29 June at Worthy Farm with 295 acts in one flat list, split by neither day nor stage. Deduplication runs on venue and date span, keyed to the series id.
Joins need a bridge. MusicBrainz ids sit only in the licensed API; public pages key on Songkick ids. MusicBrainz, though, stores Songkick artist links as a relation type of its own, so the match runs from that side.
Songkick has listed live music since 2007 from Hoxton, East London, and it works as an aggregator, not a box office. Songkick listings come from more than 100 sources by its own count, from the major ticket sellers to local listings, plus dates artists publish through Tourbox and events that fans submit. Any signed-in user can edit most events; shows featuring the most popular artists are locked against bad data. Warner Music Group sold Songkick to Suno in November 2025, and the terms and privacy policy now name Suno Inc. as operator.

Songkick concerts in London, New York and Berlin each hang on one metro page: /metro-areas/24426-uk-london also carries Brixton, Camden, Croydon and Woking, and 7644-us-new-york-nyc takes in Brooklyn, Queens and Wantagh. The sitemap currently lists about 5,000 metro areas; London holds about 6,300 upcoming events, New York about 4,200 and Berlin about 2,700 (September 2026).

Songkick API access has narrowed to a paid partnership. The Songkick developer pages, titled Concerts and Festivals API, still publish the full reference, and the API still answers at api.songkick.com/api/3.0 in JSON or XML, 50 results a page. But the key application page says new applications cannot be processed while the API is reworked, student, educational and hobby projects are refused, and business use needs a partnership agreement with a recurring licence fee from $500 a month.
A licence buys a capable concert listings API: events typed Concert or Festival, performances billed headline or support with a billing index, venues with capacity and phone, cancelled and postponed status, age limits, onTourUntil dates, MusicBrainz ids, gigographies and similar artists. The documented responses carry no ticket sellers, no prices, no RSVP counts and none of the touring stats printed on artist pages. The terms cap cached copies at 24 hours, require the Concerts by Songkick logo and a link beside every item, forbid mixing Songkick data with any other concert source and rule out building a ticketing service on it.
That fits a tour-date widget. It does not fit price monitoring across sellers, a market study that keeps history, or a venue benchmark joined to other feeds, and that gap is where Songkick scraping comes in. Mind the clock: seller rows and prices vanish once a show has passed, so a price history exists only if it is captured while the date is on sale.
