How Decathlon Scraping Works as a Managed Service

You choose the country sites, the sports or categories, and whether marketplace sellers and second-hand listings belong in scope. Our team writes the crawlers, runs them and repairs them when Decathlon redesigns a page. The European sites sit behind bot protection, so rendering, proxy rotation, pacing and CAPTCHA handling are included rather than left to you.

Rows are keyed on Decathlon's own model ID, which stays the same from one country to the next, so a comparison between France, Spain and the United Kingdom needs no product matching on your side. A run can be a single extract or a schedule - typically daily for prices and stock, weekly for the full product catalog. Files come as CSV, Excel, JSON or JSONLines to SFTP, Google Cloud Storage or Dropbox; a JSON feed and our API cover live use.

Decathlon Data We Extract per Model

Every Decathlon product page prints an ID under the description and repeats it at the end of the address, after a second number that groups the variants of one design. Our Decathlon scraper keeps both numbers, plus the country site, as the key of each row.

  • Identity - model ID, group number, product address, name, brand such as Quechua, Kiprun, Van Rysel or Domyos, and the breadcrumb through sports and categories.
  • Price - current price, former price, the amount or percentage off, the promotion dates where a site prints them and stickers such as New Lower Price, in the currency of the site.
  • Variants and stock - colours, the list of sizes, which sizes can still be ordered, and end-of-stock stickers such as Last chance.
  • Seller - the line Sold and shipped by, which names Decathlon or a partner, and the Online only tag.
  • Delivery - the home delivery date, store pickup availability, the returns period and the warranty.
  • Product content - description, the feature list, the specifications table, composition, care instructions and image addresses.
  • Environmental impact - the carbon footprint in kilograms of CO2 equivalent and its split by life-cycle stage, where the site publishes it.
  • Reviews - average rating and number of ratings, and per review the title, text, date, sub-ratings by feature, reviewer country and the Verified buyer mark. Reviewer first names are left out by default.

Category and search pages return brand, name, rating, number of colours, price and delivery promise for each tile, forty to a page - enough to build a price list for a whole sport before a single product page is opened.

Decathlon Price Tracker and Price History by Country

Decathlon Price Tracker and Price History by Country

The model ID is what turns separate shops into one dataset. The same ID opens the same jacket on the French, British, Spanish and Italian sites under four translated names, and each site answers with its own price, its own stock and its own returns period. A model on sale in four countries can also be absent from a fifth. Read side by side, that is a price tracker across borders.

Reviews behave differently: the rating and the review total are pooled, so the same count appears on every country site and each review states the country it was written in. We scrape Decathlon reviews once per model and keep the country as a field, which avoids counting one opinion several times.

Two shelves sit beside the main catalogue. Marketplace sellers list their products under a separate address pattern with a long non-numeric id, and category pages offer a Sellers filter to isolate them. Second-hand goods are tagged Second life and often carry a grade in the title.

Repeated runs add time: price history per model and country, the day a price drop or a new sticker appeared, and the order in which sizes sold out.

About Decathlon and Its Country Sites

Decathlon is a French retailer of sporting goods, founded in 1976 and headquartered in Villeneuve d'Ascq in northern France. It designs much of what it sells under its own labels - Quechua for hiking, Kiprun for running, Van Rysel for road cycling, Domyos for fitness - and stocks outside brands such as Garmin or Salomon beside them.

There is no single Decathlon website. Each country has its own domain - decathlon.fr, decathlon.es, decathlon.it, decathlon.co.uk, decathlon.de and others - with its own language, currency, prices and stock. The large European sites share one design: a menu that opens with Sports, Women, Men and Kids, category pages with filters for product type, gender, colour, size, brand, price and seller, and product pages assembled from the same blocks. The United States site at decathlon.com is a different, smaller storefront with its own address pattern.

Next to its own range Decathlon hosts a marketplace, where partners sell and ship under their own name, and a second-hand section. Member accounts, baskets and order tracking are private and stay untouched: we never sign in, and everything described here is visible to any visitor.

Why Scrape Decathlon Prices and Stock

Decathlon's own labels often set the entry price in a sport, which makes its price list a reference that other retailers and brands are measured against.

  • Sports retailers and brands - track the current and former price of each competing model and watch for stickers such as New Lower Price.
  • Pricing teams - compare one model ID across France, Spain, Italy and the United Kingdom to see where Decathlon prices high, where low, and where the product is not offered.
  • Brands sold through the marketplace - check which partners list their products, at what price and with what discount.
  • Merchandisers - read stock by size: the sizes that sell out first, models marked Last chance, and what replaces them.
  • Product developers - mine specifications, composition and the sub-ratings in reviews to learn which features buyers mark down.
  • Sustainability analysts - collect the published carbon footprint per product as a benchmark for their own range.

About ScrapeIt

ScrapeIt runs web scraping as a service: you say which data you need, and our team writes, operates and maintains the crawlers behind it. Single-brand retailers with a site per country are a familiar pattern for us - the catalogue repeats, the prices do not - and Decathlon adds a marketplace and a second-hand shelf on top. We treat personal data under GDPR, a free project assessment precedes every quote, and you may ask for a sample first. An MCP server is available on request.

FAQ

Do you offer a Decathlon API for product data?

Yes. The ScrapeIt Decathlon API returns model ID, name, brand, current and former price, size availability, seller and rating for each country site as JSON from an endpoint we host, refreshed on the schedule you set. Files in CSV, XLSX or JSONLines, a JSON feed and a load into your database carry the same fields.

Is it legal to scrape Decathlon?

Yes. Product pages, category listings, prices, size availability and customer reviews are shown to every visitor of a Decathlon country site, signed in or not. We collect only publicly available data - everything a visitor can see on Decathlon - and we collect it legally.

Are Decathlon prices the same in every country?

No. Each country site prices in its own currency and runs its own reductions, so one model ID can carry different prices in France, Spain, Italy and the United Kingdom on the same day, be sold out on one site and be missing from another. We deliver the countries side by side, joined on the model ID.

How do you track Decathlon price history and price drops?

By reading the same models on a schedule and keeping every reading. Decathlon shows the current price and, during a reduction, the former price; anything older has to come from stored runs. Daily runs catch price drops, new stickers and sizes selling out, while weekly runs are enough for catalogue changes.

Can you include marketplace sellers and second-hand listings?

Yes. Partner products carry the line Sold and shipped by with the seller's name and have their own address pattern, and second-hand items are tagged Second life, usually with a grade in the title. They can sit in one table with a seller column, or the dataset can be limited to products sold by Decathlon itself.
