One ISBN on AbeBooks can bring dozens of copies from different booksellers, each graded and priced on its own. Our AbeBooks scraper keeps every copy as a separate row.

Scope on AbeBooks is usually set by books rather than categories: a list of ISBNs, authors or titles, a slice of the rare-book market such as signed first editions, or the stock of particular booksellers. You give us the list and the cadence; we set up the crawler, operate it and keep it working when AbeBooks changes its result or listing pages. Rendering, request pacing, rotating proxies and CAPTCHA handling are part of the job.
Shipping costs on AbeBooks depend on the destination and the currency the visitor picks, so we fix both per project and record them on every row. Files arrive as CSV, XLSX, JSON or JSONLines, by e-mail, FTP, Google Drive or Dropbox, or through our API. The project assessment is free and a sample comes first.
An AbeBooks listing is one copy offered by one bookseller. The bookseller's own Seller Inventory # identifies the copy, and the ISBN identifies the edition. Fields we collect per copy:
Search result pages carry most of these fields as well, so a run can start from an author, a keyword or an ISBN list and still return complete rows. Where a sort by Most recently listed is useful, new copies can be picked up on the day they appear.

Above the copies sits the ISBN page, at an address built from the ISBN 13, a title slug and the ISBN 10. It summarises the edition: how many used and how many new copies are for sale and the lowest price of each, the edition details (publisher, publication date, language, binding, number of pages), the Goodreads rating with its count, a synopsis, and other popular editions of the same title. That page is the natural unit for an AbeBooks price tracker - lowest used price, lowest new price and copy counts per ISBN, re-read on a schedule.
The search side adds coverage by attribute. AbeBooks filters by product type, condition, binding, collectible attributes, published year, language, price, free shipping, seller region and country, and seller rating, and it sorts by lowest price, highest price, lowest total price with shipping or most recently listed. A run can therefore cover every signed first edition of an author, or every copy above a price threshold.
Repeated runs keyed on the Seller Inventory # show which copies are new, which were repriced and which have gone. Beyond books, the same structure covers magazines and periodicals, comics, maps, photographs, sheet music, art, prints and posters, and manuscripts and paper collectibles.
AbeBooks is an online marketplace where independent booksellers in more than 50 countries list new, used, rare and out-of-print books, alongside art and collectibles. The company was founded in 1995 and launched AbeBooks.com a year later; it is headquartered in Victoria, British Columbia, and has been a subsidiary of Amazon.com, Inc. since December 2008. It sells nothing itself: every order ships directly from the bookseller, and AbeBooks guarantees that the book matches its description.
The catalogue holds one listing per physical copy, not one product per title. A common paperback can have well over a hundred copies at once, from large used-book warehouses with stock photos to single shops writing their own descriptions, and a first edition of the same novel sits a few rows away from a modern reprint, told apart by publisher, year and collectible flags. The Rare Books section, catalogs curated by antiquarian dealers and the quarterly lists of the most expensive sales show where the top of the market is.
The marketplace runs on several sites - AbeBooks.com, AbeBooks.co.uk, AbeBooks.de, AbeBooks.fr, AbeBooks.it, AbeBooks.ca, AbeBooks Aus/NZ, IberLibro.com and ZVAB.com - and every visitor picks a shipping destination and a currency, which set the prices and shipping costs shown.

Full plan detailsOnce a book goes out of print it has no list price, and the asking prices of booksellers become the market. AbeBooks data answers the questions that follow.

Learn how to use web scraping to solve data problems for your organization
If you sell online, run a marketplace, or advise e-commerce clients, you already know why eBay matters: it’s one of the few places where big retailers compete side by side with thousands of small merchants and private sellers.
E-commerce teams do not just need “some” competitor data anymore. They need a continuous stream of real prices, discounts, stock levels, reviews, and seller behavior from the platforms that actually shape their markets.
Amazon provides valuable information gathered in one place: products, reviews, ratings, exclusive offers, news, etc. So scraping data from Amazon will help solve the problems of the time-consuming process of extracting data from e-commerce.
We are a managed scraping service: ScrapeIt builds the crawlers, runs them on your schedule and delivers documented datasets, so collection never turns into an in-house project. Book marketplaces suit the way we work - long lists of identifiers, copies that come and go, descriptions that need parsing into fields. AbeBooks booksellers are businesses, so their shop names, locations and ratings belong in the data, and a free assessment tells you which fields a given list of titles will yield.

Yes. The ScrapeIt AbeBooks API returns ISBN, title, edition flags, condition, price, shipping and bookseller for each copy as JSON from an endpoint we host, updated as often as your schedule says. Files in CSV, XLSX or JSONLines and a direct load into your database are the alternatives. An MCP server is available on request.
Yes. Listings, ISBN pages, bookseller names and ratings are shown to every visitor of AbeBooks without signing in. We collect only publicly available data - everything a visitor can see on AbeBooks - and we collect it legally. Booksellers are businesses; any personal details that turn up in descriptions are handled under GDPR.
Yes. Scheduled runs re-read the ISBN pages and copies you choose and store, per run, the lowest used and new prices, the number of copies and each copy's price by Seller Inventory #. Over a few weeks that becomes a price history per edition and condition, including the moment the cheap copies run out.
Not on its listings. A copy that is bought simply leaves the results, so our repeated runs record its last asking price and the date it disappeared - a strong sign of a sale, though not a confirmed one. AbeBooks does publish editorial lists of its most expensive sales each quarter, and those can be collected too.
Yes. AbeBooks.co.uk, AbeBooks.de, AbeBooks.fr, AbeBooks.it, AbeBooks.ca, IberLibro.com and ZVAB.com present booksellers' copies in their own language and currency, and we read whichever sites the project needs. Each row keeps its site, currency and shipping destination, so prices from different sites are never mixed.
You share your needs, expectations, and desired timeframe. We'll suggest the best solution based on your request and budget.
Our specialists configure the crawlers and extract a sample dataset for your review before proceeding with the full-scale extraction.
Once you approve the sample, we launch the project and start full data collection. We gather, filter, and structure the data for easy use, delivering it on time in your preferred format.
Our team manages ongoing processes, monitors website changes, and supports all data extraction cycles. We can also help integrate data into your systems or create dashboards to simplify analysis.
Tell us which sites, which fields and how often. A couple of lines is enough to start.
