Who we build this for

Pricing teams at home goods brands and retailers who need a repeatable Overstock feed rather than a one-off export. Brand and channel managers checking how their own items are named, priced and placed. Suppliers selling through the partner program who want an outside view of their listings, since the annual report notes that "The vast majority of our retail transactions are fulfilled through our network of partners". Category analysts tracking which brands hold position under a given facet. Data teams who would rather receive a validated file than keep a crawler alive against a site that refuses scripted clients on its listing pages.

We size the work to the question. One category on a weekly cycle and a full catalogue sweep are different builds, and we tell you which one your answer actually needs.

What we extract from Overstock

A crawl keys on the numeric product id. The short form /{id}/product.html answers with a 301 to the full path, so on 27 August 2026 /10569523/product.html resolved to /Electronics/Gearonic-Stereo-3.5-millimeter-In-ear-Earbuds-Headset-with-Macaron-Case/10569523/product.html. The slug is decoration and can drift out of step with the current product name, so every row we deliver is keyed on the id rather than the URL text.

  • Identifiers - the product id in the URL, the separate item number shown on the detail panel as "Item #", and the per-option sub-SKU.
  • Names and brand - product name, brand, and the legacy department segment the product path carries, such as Home-Garden, Bedding-Bath or Lighting-Ceiling-Fans.
  • Prices - current price, compare price, the compare basis, savings amount and percent, and the sale flag, all captured per option rather than once per listing.
  • Availability - in-stock flag, quantity on hand, backorder flag, and the maximum quantity a shopper is allowed to add.
  • Options - option id, option label, and the facet group each option belongs to.
  • Specifications - the label and value pairs on the detail panel, which vary by category: "Material", "Finish", "Frame Material", "Set Size", "Assembly", "Assembled Dimensions" and "Model Number".
  • Ratings and reviews - rating value, review count, and review bodies from the matching path ending customer-reviews.html.
  • Media - image URLs on ostkcdn.com, with the imwidth resize parameter normalised so the same asset does not appear twice.
  • Placement - breadcrumb trail, the browse taxonomy id from the t parameter, and the facet values that led to the listing.

Delivery is CSV, JSON, XLSX or an API endpoint, on the cadence you set, against a schema agreed before the first run.

Details that change the result

Details that change the result

One product id is not one row. On an archived Overstock product page captured 9 June 2022, product 20461019 carried six options, each with its own price, its own quantity on hand and its own sub-SKU running 000-000 through 000-005. Two of those options quoted a compare basis of "TODAY" while another quoted "WAS", so the discount baseline differed inside a single listing. That is why we store the compare basis as a field instead of deriving a discount and hoping it means the same thing everywhere.

Structured data on the page reflects the same shape. The JSON-LD block on that capture emitted an AggregateOffer with lowPrice and highPrice rather than one price, and it placed the URL id in mpn while sku held the separate item number. Current listing tiles behave the same way: on 27 August 2026 a tile carried a priceSet entry labelled "Sale:" with a formattedPrice of "$101.47 - $132.40" and explicit lower and upper bounds. Read only the schema block and you get a band, not a price.

Two option-level flags on that capture are worth requesting by name. A hideMAPProductPrice boolean marks a minimum advertised price restriction, and an ltl boolean marks freight delivery. Both change what a given price can fairly be compared against, and both are easy to lose in a generic export.

What overstock.com serves today

Overstock is a United States home goods retailer at overstock.com, and its recent history changes how you plan a crawl. The company bought the Bed Bath & Beyond brand out of bankruptcy in 2023 and renamed the consumer site bedbathandbeyond.com on 1 August 2023. The corporate entity became Beyond, Inc. in November 2023, moving from the OSTK ticker to BYON, then renamed itself Bed Bath & Beyond, Inc. and reclaimed the BBBY ticker in August 2025. The Overstock storefront came back as a separate site on 28 March 2024. Vendor pages that still describe Overstock as folded into Bed Bath & Beyond are out of date.

Checked on 27 August 2026, overstock.com serves a live Overstock-branded storefront. The homepage title reads "Shop Overstock for Furniture, Rugs & Stylish Outdoor Living." and the og:site_name is "overstock.com". The browse tree covers Furniture, Rugs, Decor, Kitchen, Lighting, Patio, Mattresses, Home Improvement, Pet Supplies, Art, Holiday, Apparel and a Designer section.

The owner's annual report for the year ended 31 December 2025 treats both storefronts as a single platform, describing bedbathandbeyond.com and overstock.com as "collectively referred to as the 'Website.'" That is visible in the code. Both sites run one application: overstock.com loads its assets from /ostk/_next/static/ and bedbathandbeyond.com from /homepage/_next/static/, and the shared config carries brand flags including isOverstock. Pages arrive as React Server Component chunks pushed through self.__next_f, not as plain anchor markup, so a simple HTML parser finds almost nothing to work with.

Why buyers pull Overstock data

Overstock lists furniture, rugs, bedding, lighting and outdoor goods that many other retailers also carry, which makes it a practical reference point for pricing work in the home category. Teams use Overstock price data to see where their own listings sit, to watch a defined competitor set, and to check how a supplier presents items that the same supplier sells through other channels.

The assortment moves more than it does at a retailer holding its own inventory. The owner's annual report for the year ended 31 December 2025 states that arrangements with suppliers "typically do not guarantee the sustained availability of these products over a predetermined period" and that "Our relationships are generally non-exclusive". Items appear, sell through and drop out. A single export ages fast, and repeated collection on a fixed schedule is what turns the site into a series you can actually reason about.

Brands with goods on the site use the same feed for a different job. Option-level prices show the advertised figure on every purchasable combination rather than a headline number, which is what matters when a minimum advertised price policy is being checked.

Assortment analysts use it to answer coverage questions: which categories a brand appears in, how deep its range goes, and which competing brands sit beside it under the same facets and the same taxonomy node.

How ScrapeIt runs the job

ScrapeIt is a managed scraping agency. An Overstock scraper is only worth having if it keeps running, so we write it, operate it, and repair it when the site shifts. You give us the field list and the cadence; you get CSV, JSON, XLSX or an API, with row-count and field-level checks against the previous run before anything reaches you.

We crawl at a measured rate and follow robots.txt. Overstock's terms restrict automated collection, so we agree the scope of each project with you and your counsel before the first run.

FAQ

Does Overstock have a public API for product data?

No, not one a third party can sign up for. Checked on 27 August 2026, there is no reachable developer portal at developer.overstock.com. The storefront does call an internal base at api.overstock.com, and the robots.txt on overstock.com disallows /api/ for every crawler. The declared sitemap also sits on that api host, while www.overstock.com/sitemap.xml returns a 404 page. The only published programmatic route is the partner application at bedbathandbeyond.com/partner, which onboards suppliers to sell on the site rather than granting anyone access to catalogue data. Pages that claim Overstock issues developer API keys do not match anything we could reach. Scraping the public pages is the practical route, and that is what this service does.

Did Overstock move to bedbathandbeyond.com, and do overstock.com URLs still work?

Both sites are live and separate. The consumer site was renamed bedbathandbeyond.com on 1 August 2023, and overstock.com was relaunched as its own storefront on 28 March 2024. They share one product id space. On 27 August 2026 the ids 20461019, 20830781 and 12863839 each resolved to the same product with the same slug on both domains. The assortments still differ: id 10569523 resolved on overstock.com and returned 410 Gone on bedbathandbeyond.com. So a shared id is not a promise that both storefronts carry the item, and a crawl aimed at Overstock has to be run against overstock.com rather than inferred from its sister site.

How do you handle Overstock variants and option prices?

One product expands into one row per option. Each option carries its own id, label, price, compare price, quantity on hand and sub-SKU, and the product URL accepts a selectedOption parameter that pins a specific one. We deliver an option-level table keyed on product id plus option id, and a rolled-up product table alongside it if you want one row per listing as well. Product-level pricing on this site is a range rather than a figure, so the option table is where a real price comparison happens. Spec fields vary by category, so we agree the column set per category rather than forcing one flat schema across furniture, rugs and mattresses.

Overstock blocks automated requests. Can you still collect the data?

Yes, within what the site allows. On 27 August 2026 a plain HTTP client received 403 at the root. A browser-like client reached the homepage, but category, search and product paths were refused at the Akamai edge, which returned an Access Denied body and set _abck and bm_sz cookies. The redirect layer stayed reachable while the rendered pages did not. We render pages the way a browser does and run at a modest rate. We do not defeat challenges or claim to. If a set of pages stays refused, we say so and rescope with you instead of pushing harder, and we would rather hand you a short file with a clear note than a full one you cannot trust.

How often can you refresh Overstock prices?

As often as the question justifies and the site tolerates. Daily suits price and stock monitoring on a watched set of ids. Weekly or monthly suits assortment and catalogue work. For scale, the owner's annual report for the year ended 31 December 2025 describes a product assortment that "reaches into the millions", and on 27 August 2026 the sister storefront's sitemap index listed 31 product files stamped 2026-08-26, with the one we sampled holding 25,000 product URLs. A full sweep is therefore a scheduled job rather than something served on demand. We agree cadence, field list and delivery format up front, and each run is compared against the previous one before it ships.
