You tell us what to cover - whole departments, a list of article numbers, a brand, the liquor range or only what is on deal this week - and how often. We build the Checkers crawlers, run them on that schedule and repair them when the Sixty60 storefront changes its layout. checkers.co.za sits behind a bot wall that turns unfamiliar traffic away; getting through it is our job and part of the price, not a task left to you.
Before the first run we agree which store or delivery area the prices should come from, because Checkers ties availability to the delivery address and runs promotions by region. Field documentation arrives with the first file, and a sample can be ordered before you commit to a schedule.
Every row starts from the product address. A Checkers product lives at /product/ plus a slug and the article number with its unit code - EA for items sold by the each, KG for meat and produce sold by weight - and that article number is the key that keeps a row stable from run to run.
Department and search pages feed the same fields, so a run can start from the department tree, from a keyword list or from your own article numbers.

One extract tells you today's shelf. The value of a Checkers price tracker comes from the repeat: each run is stamped with its date, so the price, the crossed-out price and the badge build a price history per article number. A price drop shows up as a row where the current price falls below last week's figure, and the Deal expires date tells you when the old price should come back. That is the honest way to track Checkers price drops: watch the deal start, the expiry date and what happens the day after.
Coverage reaches past single products. The department tree gives the full assortment by aisle; the store finder links each Checkers store to its current leaflets; the Related Products block shows which lines Checkers puts next to each other. The site also offers a backup product choice for when a first choice is out of stock, which tells you which items the retailer treats as substitutes.
For a weekly food price list or a liquor prices board, we fix the item list, the area and the day, and the file arrives in the same column order every time.
Checkers is a South African supermarket chain in the Shoprite Holdings group. Its website and its Sixty60 delivery app now run as one storefront: product pages on checkers.co.za carry the Sixty60 name in their titles. Shoppers can filter by delivery type, choosing the Sixty60 lane for quick grocery orders or the Hyper lane for bulk and larger items from Checkers Hyper.
The catalogue is organised under Shop by Department, next to My Shop for a shopper's regulars and a store finder with leaflets. Departments nest several levels deep, down to the shelf a product sits on. Older catalogue addresses under /All-Departments/ still circulate in search results; they carry the same article number as the current /product/ page, so history collected on either can be joined.
Offers are local. A product page can tell a visitor that an item is not available for delivery at the current address, and Checkers runs promotions by region, such as Western Cape or Eastern Cape deals. Deals run on fixed windows and Xtra Savings, the Checkers loyalty programme, ties part of them to its members, so the price of the same item can change from one deal window to the next.
Delivery: CSV, JSON or XLSX files, our API or a JSON feed. MCP server on request.
Full plan detailsCheckers prices are a reference point for anyone selling groceries in South Africa, and the site shows them line by line with the deal mechanics attached.

Learn how to use web scraping to solve data problems for your organization
If you sell online, run a marketplace, or advise e-commerce clients, you already know why eBay matters: it’s one of the few places where big retailers compete side by side with thousands of small merchants and private sellers.
E-commerce teams do not just need “some” competitor data anymore. They need a continuous stream of real prices, discounts, stock levels, reviews, and seller behavior from the platforms that actually shape their markets.
Amazon provides valuable information gathered in one place: products, reviews, ratings, exclusive offers, news, etc. So scraping data from Amazon will help solve the problems of the time-consuming process of extracting data from e-commerce.
ScrapeIt is a managed web scraping service: we build, run and repair the crawlers, and you receive the data. Supermarket sites are a steady part of our work - prices that change with the area, deals with end dates, and products that come and go weekly. For Checkers you choose the departments, the area and the schedule; we hand over CSV, Excel or JSON on a fixed schema. Plans start from EUR 169 a month, or EUR 199 for a one-time extract.

Yes. The ScrapeIt Checkers API returns article number, name, brand, current price, deal badge and the Deal expires date as JSON from an endpoint we host, refreshed on the schedule you set. The same records also come as CSV or Excel files, through SFTP or loaded straight into your database.
Yes. Product names, prices, deal badges, specification tables and the department tree are shown to any visitor of checkers.co.za without an account. We collect only publicly available data - what a guest sees on Checkers - and we collect it legally, with personal data handled under GDPR.
Yes. Checkers prices can differ by region because promotions run by region, and availability is tied to the delivery address. We agree the store or area with you before the first run, and every row is stamped with it, so a Gauteng list never mixes with a Western Cape one.
It depends on what you watch. Deals carry their own expiry date, so a weekly run catches promotions as they start and end, while a daily run is worth it for fresh meat and produce priced per kg. Runs can also be one-off or on demand.
Yes. Items offered through the Hyper lane are collected with the same fields as groceries, plus the lane they belong to. Variable-weight lines, such as mince sold in a weight band, carry the KG unit code and a price per kg, which we keep in its own column.
You share your needs, expectations, and desired timeframe. We'll suggest the best solution based on your request and budget.
Our specialists configure the crawlers and extract a sample dataset for your review before proceeding with the full-scale extraction.
Once you approve the sample, we launch the project and start full data collection. We gather, filter, and structure the data for easy use, delivering it on time in your preferred format.
Our team manages ongoing processes, monitors website changes, and supports all data extraction cycles. We can also help integrate data into your systems or create dashboards to simplify analysis.
Tell us which sites, which fields and how often. A couple of lines is enough to start.
