Thomann is one retailer, not a crowd of sellers, so the work is about breadth and repetition: which storefronts, which categories or manufacturers, which item numbers, and how often. You give us that scope; we build the crawler, schedule it and fix it when Thomann reworks a page template. Pacing, proxy rotation, CAPTCHA handling and rendering are included, and the schedule can be tightened around sale periods such as Cyber Deals.
Every row carries the storefront it came from and the item number, which makes rows from the British, French and Swiss sites line up without guesswork. Delivery comes as CSV, Excel or JSON files, into Amazon S3 or Google Cloud Storage, or through our API, one-off or on your schedule, with a free sample first.
Every Thomann product page is built around an item number - a plain numeric code that also names the product photo file and stays the same on every country storefront, while the price beside it changes. Fields we extract per product and storefront:
Accessories marked Perfect fit can be added as linked item numbers when a project needs attachment or basket analysis.

One product page is a snapshot; Thomann's value for monitoring lies in the series. On a schedule the crawler re-reads the same item numbers and logs every price drop, every change of the stock text and every move in the Sales Rank, per item and storefront. B-Stock is kept as its own line, because it is priced separately from the new unit and is not always on offer.
Category pages widen the scope. Thomann's categories can be read in full and sliced by the shop's own filters - manufacturer, price range, availability, colour and the specification facets of the category, with bundles excluded or not - and in the sort orders it offers: popularity, price in either direction, best rated first and new products first. The New Products, Top Sellers, Hot Deals, Bargains and Download Deals sections can be tracked as lists of their own, because what Thomann pushes this week is a signal in its own right.
Across storefronts, the item number is the join key. We read the same product on thomann.de, thomann.co.uk, thomann.fr or thomannmusic.ch and deliver one table with a row per item and market, the currency kept beside each price.
Thomann is a German family-owned music retailer. Hans Thomann Senior founded the business in Treppendorf in 1954, and by the company's own account it was the first music retailer in Germany to launch a website, in 1996. Unlike a marketplace it sells everything in its shop itself and ships from what it calls Europe's biggest mail dispatch warehouse, so each product has one price per storefront rather than a spread of sellers.
The catalogue is split into departments - Guitars and Basses, Drums and Percussion, Keys, Studio and Recording Equipment, PA Equipment, Lighting and Stage, DJ Equipment, Microphones, Wind Instruments and more - each a deep tree down to types such as ST Style Guitars. Beside the tree run curated sections, Hot Deals, New Products, Top Sellers, Bargains and Download Deals, and B-Stock units sold with full warranty that may show slight traces of use.
The shop runs as a family of storefronts: thomann.de with German and Belgian versions, thomann.at, thomann.co.uk, thomann.fr, thomann.it, thomann.es, thomann.nl, thomann.pl, thomann.se and other European domains, thomann.ae, and thomannmusic.com for the United States. They share item numbers and usually URL slugs, but each shows its own language, currency and price.
Delivery: CSV, JSON or XLSX files, our API or a JSON feed. MCP server on request.
Full plan detailsThomann prints more than a price on each product page: a sales rank in its category, a live visitor count, a restock forecast in weeks and, on the German site, the gap to the recommended retail price. That makes its pages useful well beyond price checks.

Learn how to use web scraping to solve data problems for your organization
Ten German ecommerce websites worth scraping in 2026, from OTTO and idealo to REWE and Edeka: what each site shows, which fields matter to a data buyer, what is specific to German retail data and how to combine the sites into one dataset.
If you sell online, run a marketplace, or advise e-commerce clients, you already know why eBay matters: it’s one of the few places where big retailers compete side by side with thousands of small merchants and private sellers.
E-commerce teams do not just need “some” competitor data anymore. They need a continuous stream of real prices, discounts, stock levels, reviews, and seller behavior from the platforms that actually shape their markets.
ScrapeIt runs data collection as a service for companies that need retail and marketplace data on a schedule: we design the crawlers, operate them, check the output and deliver it with field documentation. Retailers with country storefronts call for exactly that discipline - one product, several currencies, a VAT rule per market - and Thomann is a clear example. Review authors stay anonymous in our files, and any personal data that does appear is handled in line with GDPR.

Yes. The ScrapeIt Thomann API returns the item number, price and currency, stock text, Sales Rank, rating count and B-Stock price for each storefront as JSON from an endpoint we host, refreshed on the schedule you set. The same data is also available as CSV or XLSX files, over SFTP or loaded into your database.
Yes. Prices, stock texts, specifications, ratings and reviews appear on Thomann's product and category pages for any visitor, without an account. We collect only publicly available data - everything a visitor can see on Thomann - and we collect it legally. Reviewer names are dropped by default.
It depends on the storefront. The European storefronts print a note in their own language that all prices include VAT, while thomannmusic.com in the United States shows no VAT line and calculates shipping at checkout. We store the price exactly as displayed together with the storefront and its VAT note, so net prices can be derived per market instead of assumed.
Yes. Each scheduled pass revisits the item numbers you choose, daily if needed, and records each change of price, stock text and Sales Rank with a timestamp. The "B-Stock available from" price has its own column, so you see when a cheaper returned unit appears next to the new one.
By the item number. It is identical on every storefront - the same guitar keeps one number on thomann.de, thomann.co.uk, thomann.fr and thomannmusic.com - and the URL slug usually matches as well. We deliver one row per item, market and run date with price, currency and stock, so a country comparison or a trend line is a filter on the table.
You share your needs, expectations, and desired timeframe. We'll suggest the best solution based on your request and budget.
Our specialists configure the crawlers and extract a sample dataset for your review before proceeding with the full-scale extraction.
Once you approve the sample, we launch the project and start full data collection. We gather, filter, and structure the data for easy use, delivering it on time in your preferred format.
Our team manages ongoing processes, monitors website changes, and supports all data extraction cycles. We can also help integrate data into your systems or create dashboards to simplify analysis.
Tell us which sites, which fields and how often. A couple of lines is enough to start.
