How our buyFSA scraping service works

You name the scope - the whole shop, a department such as Health Care or Baby & Mom, a list of brands, or the On Sale and Newest Products collections - and how often you need it. We write the crawler, run it and repair it when the shop's theme changes. Pacing, proxy rotation and rendering are handled on our side; there is no tool for you to set up.

Every run produces one row per variant with a timestamp, so files from different dates stack into a history. The English catalogue is the default, and the Spanish version of the shop can be collected alongside it. Delivery is CSV, Excel, JSON or XML by e-mail, SFTP, Dropbox or Google Drive, through our API, or straight into your database.

buyFSA data fields: products, variants and eligibility

A buyFSA product page is written for a shopper holding a benefits card, and that makes it unusually explicit: next to the usual retail fields it says why the item qualifies. We collect:

  • Identity - product name, product URL, brand, product type and the collections the item sits in.
  • Codes - the SKU and the GTIN of every variant, which let you match a row to the same item at a pharmacy chain or on a marketplace.
  • Variants - up to three option groups per product, for example Color, Size and Unit Count, or Flavor, with the variant address of each combination.
  • Price - regular price, sale price, the Sale badge, the From price of multi-variant items, and the unit price the shop prints per ounce or per item.
  • Stock - in stock or sold out, per variant.
  • Content - description with features, specifications and directions, and the image gallery.
  • Reviews - review count, the split across star levels and the review text.
  • Eligibility - the FSA-Approved label beside the brand name, the text of the block that answers why the item is eligible, and the brand's FSA-Ok mark and star rating where the page carries its brand block.

The codes matter most. A product name on buyFSA can differ from the wording another retailer uses, but the GTIN is the manufacturer's, so a price comparison across shops runs on it and not on fuzzy name matching.

The catalogue is small enough to collect whole, so the extra value lies in its structure and in repetition.

  • Collections and filters - each collection states its product count and offers filters by product type, brand, product form, size, color, flavor, quantity, availability and price, every value with a count beside it. Kept as data, they give the shop's taxonomy and the weight of each brand in a category.
  • Brand directory - an A to Z list in which a brand is marked FSA-OK, meaning no letter is needed, or FSA-LMN, meaning a Letter of Medical Necessity is required. Each brand page adds its product count, the eligibility categories its products fall under and a short profile of the brand.
  • Curated lists - Best Sellers, Newest Products, Travel Size, Bundles and the price-band lists under Goodies.
  • Eligibility content - the shop's eligibility list, which sorts items into eligible products, eligible services, those that need a letter and those that are not eligible, and dated articles on single items.

Scheduled runs keyed on SKU turn buyFSA prices into a price history: when a sale price appears and ends, how the regular price drifts, which variants sell out, and which products join or leave the shop.

About buyFSA, the FSA and HSA shop

buyFSA is a United States online shop with one rule for its range: everything on sale can be paid for with a Flexible Spending Account or Health Savings Account card. The shop states that all of its products are guaranteed eligible and that it works with the industry group that determines eligibility. It counts its range in the thousands of products and its brands in the hundreds.

The menu runs Health Care, Personal Care, Baby & Mom, Glasses and Customer Faves; the last entry gathers Bundles, the Goodies price bands, Newest Products, Travel Size, On Sale and the Shop by Brand directory. Health Care holds pain relief, allergy, digestive health, first aid, braces and supports, diabetes management and hearing devices; Personal Care covers skin and sun care, women's health and foot care. Drugstore staples share the shelves with health-tech devices such as percussion massagers, heart rate monitors and hearing aids.

The site is a single storefront in English with a Spanish version and prices in US dollars. Product pages name a brand, never a seller, so each variant has one price and one stock status at a time. Brands apply to be listed through a vendor page.

Why scrape buyFSA product data

Because the shop sells nothing that is not eligible, its catalogue is a ready answer to a question other retailers leave vague: which products can be bought with FSA or HSA money, and at what price.

  • Eligible assortment mapping. Brands and retailers join the GTIN list to their own catalogue to see which of their items are already sold as FSA eligible products and which are missing.
  • Price benchmarking. Regular price, sale price and unit price per SKU are set against pharmacy chains and marketplaces that sell the same GTIN.
  • Category sizing. Product counts per product type and brand show how deep the shop goes in pain relief, incontinence, hearing or baby care.
  • Launch and stock watching. Newest Products and sold-out flags show what enters the range and what runs short.
  • Content and reviews. Descriptions, directions and review texts feed product-content audits and voice-of-customer work.

A buyFSA extract is most useful next to the large retailers that carry the same GTINs, and the eligibility reason on each product page is what this shop adds to the comparison.

About ScrapeIt

ScrapeIt collects web data as a service. A client describes the dataset; we write and operate the crawlers and hand over the files together with field documentation.

Specialist shops such as buyFSA are compact projects: one merchant, a clear category tree and a variant table behind every product. They pay off when they run on a schedule and are matched by GTIN with the larger retailers we also cover. Ask for a free assessment of your scope, or order a sample first.

FAQ

Do you offer a buyFSA API for product and price data?

Yes. The ScrapeIt buyFSA API returns product name, brand, product type, SKU, GTIN, option values, regular price, sale price and stock status as JSON from an endpoint we host, updated on the schedule you choose. If you prefer files, the same table arrives as CSV, XLSX or JSONLines, or is loaded into your database.

Is it legal to scrape buyFSA?

Yes. The catalogue, brand pages, eligibility notes and product reviews are shown to every visitor of the shop, no account needed. We collect only publicly available data - everything a visitor can see on buyFSA - and we collect it legally.

Can you scrape buyFSA reviews?

Yes. Product pages show the review count, the split across five star levels and the review texts with dates, and we collect them per product. Reviewers' names are personal data, so the default file carries the review without them.

Do you return one row per product or per variant?

Per variant. A buyFSA product can have up to three option groups, such as Color, Size and Unit Count, and each combination has its own SKU, GTIN, price and stock status. The parent product name, brand and URL repeat on every row, so the file rolls up to product level with one grouping.

How often does buyFSA data need refreshing?

Sale prices come and go with the On Sale collection, and variants switch between in stock and sold out. The shop itself points customers to the year-end spending deadline, so the weeks before it are worth a daily run; a weekly run is enough for the rest of the year.

How does it Work?
